Product Description
Blending a responsive feel with a, warm, seasoned sound, the Gold Label 712e adds an alluring new flavour of tone to our collection of heritage-inspired acoustic guitars. This compact Grand Concert features slightly increased body depth in a frame that remains accommodating for players of all statures, combining Indian rosewood back and sides with a torrefied Sitka spruce top for a dynamic, versatile voice that responds to an array of playing styles. Fingerstyle players will appreciate the top-end clarity and sparkle of that tonewood pairing, while flatpickers and strummers will love its rich low-end presence and blooming harmonic character. The fanned V-Class bracing inside provides a boost to volume, sustain and resonance across the frequency spectrum, while the slender Action Control Neck and its long-tenon joint enhance both warmth and microadjustability. Other details for this model reflect its throwback character, including cream-coloured binding with a matching rosette trimmed in black, Crest inlays, a Honduran rosewood Curve Wing bridge, and a natural glossy finish. It includes LR Baggs Element VTC electronics and ships in a deluxe British Cocoa hardshell case.
Gold Label Grand Concert
Our new Gold Label Grand Concerts reimagine Taylor’s most comfortable body style with a slightly deeper body and heritage-inspired voicing that delivers surprising warmth, low-end depth and dynamic range. These guitars retain the intimacy and responsiveness players love in a GC, while sonically punching well above their size.
V-Class Bracing
Taylor's revolutionary V-shaped bracing pattern allows the soundboard of the guitar to resonate and flex naturally without any of the resistance found in more traditional bracing patterns. The guitar becomes louder and fuller with increased sustain and the notes along the fingerboard intonate better and generally sound more in tune with each other. The carefully thought-out design strikes the perfect balance of enough stiffness to remain stable and the perfect amount of flex for a powerful and harmonically rich sound.
L.R. Baggs Element VTC Electronics
Multi-band compression has long been a secret of mastering rooms worldwide to unlock the warmth and natural dynamics of recorded instruments. The Element VTC’s all-discrete, Class A preamp leverages this studio elixir with a proprietary analog compressor that operates below 400Hz. The compressor is tuned to reflect the actual dynamics of the acoustic guitar, creating in live performance the superior warmth and natural balance of tone achieved in professionally studio-mastered sound. Includes soundhole-mounted volume and treble tone controls.
Features
- Torrefied Sitka Spruce Top - Taylor’s torrefying (roasting) process, in essence, seasons the wood to vintage perfection. With additional overtones and resonance as well as a played-in warmth that you'd only expect to find on a guitar that’s at least 30 years old.
- Indian Rosewood - The tonewood superstar. Popular, traditional, and versatile, Bob Taylor puts Indian rosewood among the greatest tonewoods ever.
- LR Baggs Element VTC Electronics - The onboard pickup and preamp give a superior warmth and natural balance of tone, heightening the overall sound.
- Action Control Neck - The Taylor Action Control Neck combines the superior tone of a long-tenon joint with their previous neck micro-adjustability, resulting in a neck with enhanced acoustic tone and resonance, along with effortless adjustability.
