Product Description

With its classic tonewood pairing, compact frame and throwback aesthetics, the Gold Label 512e is sure to impress players seeking a new flavor of old-soul tone. This comfortable and highly responsive Grand Concert boasts solid mahogany back and sides paired with a solid top of torrefied Sitka spruce, yielding a focused midrange voice with controlled overtones, a woody, dry character and a dash of aged-in sweetness from the specially roasted soundboard. A long-tenon Action Control Neck enhances overall resonance while making it easy to dial in the perfect feel in minutes, while the fanned V-Class bracing inside improves volume, sustain and low-end presence. Topped of with a natural gloss finish, the Gold Label 512e also sports cream-colored binding with matching Crest inlays, pickguard, and rosette trimmed with black, along with a suite of Honduran rosewood features including the fretboard, Curve Wing bridge and peghead veneer. It includes LR Baggs Element VTC electronics for rich plugged-in tone and ships with a deluxe hardshell case.

Gold Label Grand Concert

Our new Gold Label Grand Concerts reimagine Taylor’s most comfortable body style with a slightly deeper body and heritage-inspired voicing that delivers surprising warmth, low-end depth and dynamic range. These guitars retain the intimacy and responsiveness players love in a GC, while sonically punching well above their size.

V-Class Bracing

Taylor's revolutionary V-shaped bracing pattern allows the soundboard of the guitar to resonate and flex naturally without any of the resistance found in more traditional bracing patterns. The guitar becomes louder and fuller with increased sustain and the notes along the fingerboard intonate better and generally sound more in tune with each other. The carefully thought-out design strikes the perfect balance of enough stiffness to remain stable and the perfect amount of flex for a powerful and harmonically rich sound.

L.R. Baggs Element VTC Electronics

Multi-band compression has long been a secret of mastering rooms worldwide to unlock the warmth and natural dynamics of recorded instruments. The Element VTC’s all-discrete, Class A preamp leverages this studio elixir with a proprietary analog compressor that operates below 400Hz. The compressor is tuned to reflect the actual dynamics of the acoustic guitar, creating in live performance the superior warmth and natural balance of tone achieved in professionally studio-mastered sound. Includes soundhole-mounted volume and treble tone controls.

Features
  • Torrefied Sitka Spruce Top - Taylor’s torrefying (roasting) process, in essence, seasons the wood to vintage perfection. With additional overtones and resonance as well as a played-in warmth that you'd only expect to find on a guitar that’s at least 30 years old.
  • Mahogany Back & Sides - A midrange powerhouse. Mahogany is prized for balance and articulation, making it one of the best all-around tonewoods there is.
  • LR Baggs Element VTC Electronics - The onboard pickup and preamp give a superior warmth and natural balance of tone, heightening the overall sound.
  • Action Control Neck - The Taylor Action Control Neck combines the superior tone of a long-tenon joint with their previous neck micro-adjustability, resulting in a neck with enhanced acoustic tone and resonance, along with effortless adjustability.
