Product Description

The Summer School Electronics Snow Day Delay is a versatile dual-delay pedal that gives you instant access to two independent delay voices, plus a powerful Blizzard Mode for stacked, saturated echoes. Whether you want a pristine, set-and-forget digital delay or wild, percussive textures that push your amp into orbit, Snow Day Delay keeps everything under your feet and ready to recall at a tap.

Built around a pair of PT2399 chips, Snow Day Delay lets you run each delay separately or together, with clear visual feedback from dedicated blue and yellow LEDs. In standard mode you get crisp, musical repeats that sit perfectly in a mix, while Blizzard Mode unleashes thicker, more coloured echoes that can clip and saturate in a uniquely musical way. It is a compact, performance-ready delay that rewards both subtle use and full-on experimental sound design.

Dual Delay Engines with Independent Control

At the heart of the Snow Day Delay are two completely independent delay lines, each with its own time control and LED. In standard mode, each setting offers up to around 600 ms of clear, smooth delay, ideal for everything from tight slapback to spacious rhythmic echoes. Having two fully dialled-in delay times ready to go means you can move between song sections or different tracks without touching a single knob, making this a genuine set-it-and-forget-it solution for live use.

Blizzard Mode for Saturated, Textured Echoes

Flip into Blizzard Mode and the Snow Day Delay becomes a creative playground. With the yellow light engaged, both delay chips lock to approximately the same time, controlled by the Delay 2 knob, creating a thicker, more saturated repeat that gradually clips and colours your tone as it decays. Switch to the blue light in Blizzard Mode and both delays run in parallel at independent times, opening up complex rhythmic patterns, cascading echoes and cavernous ambience that go far beyond a typical single-chip delay.

Performance-Friendly Switching and Visual Feedback

The Snow Day Delay is designed to be intuitive on a dark stage. The blue and yellow LEDs clearly indicate which delay engine or Blizzard setting you are using, so you always know what to expect when you step on the footswitch. You can toggle between the two delay setups or between the two Blizzard behaviours with a simple tap, letting you move from a tight, controlled delay to self-oscillating spaceship sounds and straight back again without losing your original settings.

Musical Controls for Effortless Dial-In

The straightforward control layout makes it easy to find usable sounds fast. Mix sets the level of the repeats against your dry signal, Repeat determines how long the echoes last, and the Delay 1 and Delay 2 knobs define the timing of each delay engine. From subtle ambience that enhances your core tone to runaway feedback and experimental noise, the Snow Day Delay responds musically at every setting, making it equally at home on a traditional pedalboard or in a more adventurous sound-design rig.

Features
  • Two Independent PT2399 Delay Lines - Dual delay engines give you two completely separate delay times that can be set up for different songs or sections, then recalled instantly with the onboard switching, removing the need for tap tempo in many live situations.
  • Blizzard Mode for Stacked and Saturated Echoes - Engage Blizzard Mode to run both delay chips together, either in unison for thicker, clipped repeats or at independent times for complex, percussive patterns and cavernous ambience that go far beyond a standard digital delay.
  • Simple, Musical Control Layout - With dedicated Mix, Repeat, Delay 1 and Delay 2 controls, it is easy to dial in everything from classic clean digital delay to self-oscillating textures, all without menu-diving or secondary functions.
  • Stage-Ready Visual Feedback - Distinct blue and yellow LEDs clearly indicate which delay engine or Blizzard setting is active, so you always know what sound you are switching to mid-song, keeping your performance tight and controlled.
