Product Description
The Summer School Electronics Gladys V2 is a low to mid gain overdrive that delivers classic, touch-sensitive drive with modern flexibility. With more headroom, extra gain on tap, a 2-band active EQ and silent switching, it is equally at home adding a bit of hair to your clean tone or pushing an already cooking amp into rich, articulate saturation.
Designed and hand built by working musicians, Gladys V2 is voiced to cover rock, blues, country and everything in between. The simple four-knob layout keeps things intuitive on stage, while the compression toggle lets you flip between a softer, vintage-style response and a louder, crisper and more modern drive character. Whether you want a hard-clipping boost for rhythm work or a more open, punchy lead sound, Gladys V2 slots easily into any rig.
Updated Low/Mid Gain Drive
Gladys V2 takes the original Gladys low/mid gain overdrive concept and refines it with more headroom and gain available. This gives you a wider usable range, from subtle breakup that cleans up with your guitar volume to more assertive drive tones that still retain note clarity. It is ideal for players who live in that edge-of-breakup zone but want the option to push a little harder when the song demands it.
Two Distinct Voicings with Compression Toggle
The front-panel toggle switch effectively gives you two pedals in one. With the toggle up, Gladys V2 behaves as a hard-clipping boost or drive, inspired by classic breaker-style circuits with lower headroom and a lighter, more traditional drive feel. Flick the switch down and the pedal opens up with more volume and headroom, delivering a crisper, more direct and modern drive sound with added bite and presence.
2-Band Active EQ for Precise Shaping
A 2-band active EQ with dedicated Treble and Bass controls lets you fine-tune Gladys V2 to your guitar, amp and playing style. You can tighten up low end for rhythm work, add extra chime to cut through a mix, or tame harshness in brighter rigs. The active design means the EQ is genuinely powerful and musical, making it easy to dial in everything from warm, rounded blues tones to sharper, more aggressive rock sounds.
Gig Ready and Built to Last
Gladys V2 features silent switching for clean, noise-free operation on stage and in the studio. Running on a standard 9-volt centre-negative power supply, it drops straight onto most pedalboards without fuss. Hand built in Syracuse, NY by working musicians, it is constructed with attention to detail and backed by a lifetime warranty, giving you confidence that this little overdrive will be a reliable part of your sound for years to come.
