Sonor SQ2 14x6.5 Birch Snare Drum in American Walnut Violet Burst

The Sonor SQ2 14x6.5 Birch Snare Drum in American Walnut Violet Burst is a premium, custom-level snare designed for drummers who demand clarity, projection and a truly individual aesthetic. Built from hand-selected Scandinavian Birch and finished in a stunning American Walnut Violet Burst veneer, it delivers a focused, articulate voice that cuts through any mix while retaining warmth and musicality.

Part of Sonor’s flagship SQ2 system, this snare showcases the brand’s meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail. Every element, from the shell construction to the hardware and finish, is engineered to help you express your own musical identity. Whether you are on stage or in the studio, it offers a refined, versatile sound that responds to every nuance of your playing.

Scandinavian Birch Shell Tone

At the heart of this snare is a Scandinavian Birch shell, chosen for its aggressive, distinctive tone and tremendous projection. Birch provides clear low and high frequency definition with a smooth, balanced midrange, giving you a punchy, modern sound that still feels organic. Ghost notes, rimshots and backbeats all speak with precision, making it ideal for contemporary rock, pop, fusion and beyond.

14x6.5 Inch Versatile Dimensions

The 14x6.5 size offers an ideal balance of body and crack. The extra depth compared to a standard 5.5 inch shell adds fullness, low-end weight and a more powerful backbeat, while the 14 inch diameter keeps the response fast and familiar under the sticks. Tune it high for tight, articulate funk and pop, or drop it down for fat, throaty rock tones with plenty of character.

American Walnut Violet Burst Finish

The American Walnut Violet Burst finish combines a luxurious wood veneer look with a striking, contemporary burst. The natural grain of the walnut is enhanced by the violet shading, creating a drum that looks as sophisticated as it sounds. Under stage lights or in the studio, it brings a touch of boutique class to any kit without being overly flashy.

Every detail is considered so the drum can serve as a dependable centrepiece of your setup for years to come.
