Sonor SQ2 13x6.5 Birch Snare Drum in African Marble Black Burst

The Sonor SQ2 13x6.5 Birch Snare Drum in African Marble Black Burst is a premium, custom-level snare that delivers cutting clarity, huge projection and refined musicality. Built from handpicked Scandinavian birch and dressed in a stunning African Marble Black Burst finish, it is designed for drummers who want a highly articulate, versatile snare that looks as good as it sounds.

Part of Sonor’s flagship SQ2 system, this snare showcases the brand’s meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail. From the carefully selected birch shell to the precision-engineered hardware, every element is crafted to help you express your own musical voice, whether you are playing live on big stages or recording in the studio.

Scandinavian Birch Power and Clarity

At the heart of this snare is a Scandinavian birch shell that offers an aggressive, distinctive tone with tremendous projection. Birch naturally emphasises low and high frequencies while keeping the mids smooth and controlled, giving you a punchy crack with plenty of body and a clean, focused response that sits perfectly in any mix.

Expressive 13x6.5 Proportions

The 13x6.5 size strikes a sweet spot between tight, articulate response and full, resonant depth. The smaller diameter sharpens the attack and sensitivity, while the deeper shell adds warmth and power, making this snare equally at home playing ghost-note heavy grooves, tight funk backbeats or explosive rock accents.

Premium SQ2 Craftsmanship

As part of the SQ2 Drum System, this snare benefits from Sonor’s uncompromising build quality and hand-finished detailing. The shell construction, bearing edges and hardware work together to maximise resonance and tuning stability, giving you a drum that responds consistently across all dynamics and tunings.
