Product Description
The SolidGoldFX Fuzzbox is a compact, hand-made Tone Bender Mk II-style fuzz that delivers classic British grind with modern flexibility. Low-gain silicon transistors, dual Vintage and Modern modes, and powerful Bias and Sag controls give you everything from tight, articulate fuzz to sagging, spluttering chaos, all while remaining pedalboard-friendly and easy to integrate into contemporary rigs.
Inspired by the legendary Mk II circuit, the Fuzzbox captures the thick sustain, rich harmonics and snarling midrange that defined countless rock records. At the same time, its enhanced low end, improved compatibility with wahs and buffers, and wide voltage range make it far more forgiving and versatile than a typical vintage-style fuzz. Whether you are chasing classic tones or pushing into new sonic territory, this pedal gives you the control to dial in your perfect fuzz voice.
On a busy board, the Fuzzbox is designed to slot straight in. Top-mounted jacks, a compact 125B enclosure and a soft-touch, relay-based true bypass switch keep your signal path clean and your layout tidy. Running happily from 9 to 18V DC, it can be powered from most standard supplies, with higher voltages tightening the response and adding extra headroom.
Hand-made in Montreal, Canada, the Fuzzbox is built for players who want vintage character without vintage headaches. From subtle, volume-knob-cleaned grit to full-on saturated roar, it responds dynamically to your playing and your guitar, making it a powerful expressive tool for studio and stage alike.
Vintage-Inspired Tone Bender Character
The Fuzzbox is based on the iconic Tone Bender Mk II circuit, delivering the raw grind, thick sustain and complex harmonic content associated with classic British fuzz. It nails that chewy, mid-forward voice that cuts through a mix, making it ideal for classic rock riffs, soaring leads and expressive, touch-sensitive playing.
Vintage and Modern Input Modes
With dedicated Vintage and Modern modes, the Fuzzbox adapts to both traditional and contemporary setups. Vintage mode gives you the raw, unfiltered Mk II-style input response with plenty of pick attack and sensitivity, while Modern mode adds extra low end and improves compatibility with wah pedals, buffers and complex pedalboards, so you can keep your tone intact in any rig.
Bias and Sag for Deep Tone Shaping
The Bias control lets you fine-tune the operating point of the third transistor, moving from tighter, snappier fuzz to softer, more compressed textures. The Sag control varies the internal circuit voltage from around 9V down to 5V, recreating the feel and response of a dying battery for sputtery, gated tones, giving you a huge range of fuzz flavours from one compact box.
Pedalboard-Friendly, Hand-Made Design
A compact 125B enclosure with top-mounted jacks makes the Fuzzbox easy to fit on crowded boards, while relay-based true bypass and a soft-touch footswitch ensure quiet, reliable switching. Hand-made in Montreal, Canada, it combines boutique build quality with practical features that suit modern players and touring rigs.
