Product Description
The Sennheiser MKE Essential Omni Lavalier is a compact, professional-grade condenser microphone designed for demanding everyday use on live stages. Featuring Sennheiser’s newly developed KE 4 capsule, it delivers a warm, natural sound with impressive clarity, even when talent is projecting at full volume. This version comes in black with a 3.5mm connector, making it ideal for use with compatible Sennheiser XS and Evolution Wireless systems.
Derived from the legendary MKE 2 capsule used on Broadway, the MKE Essential Omni brings that same high-end performance into a more accessible package. It is purpose-built for theatre, musical productions, corporate presentations and houses of worship, where reliable, great-sounding audio is essential but budgets may be tighter. With its discreet form factor and robust construction, it is made to disappear visually while standing out sonically.
Warm, Detailed Sound for Every Voice
At the heart of the MKE Essential Omni is the KE 4 capsule, tuned to provide a warm, full-bodied tone that flatters speech and singing alike. The omnidirectional pickup pattern captures voices naturally without sounding boxy or harsh, helping performers sound clear and consistent as they move around the stage. Even at very high sound pressure levels, the microphone maintains a clean, distortion-free signal, so powerful vocal performances come through with confidence.
Built to Survive the Stage
Stage environments are tough on microphones, so Sennheiser have equipped the MKE Essential Omni with multiple layers of protection. A patented umbrella diaphragm shields the sensitive capsule from sweat and moisture, helping to prevent failures during long shows and intense performances. The cable and connection points are engineered for tensile strength, supporting repeated rigging, quick changes and daily use in professional productions.
Discreet and Easy to Conceal
The MKE Essential Omni is designed to stay out of sight and out of mind. Its lightweight, low-profile form factor makes it easy to hide in hair, on the cheek or on clothing, blending seamlessly with costumes and make-up. Available in black, it integrates neatly into darker wardrobe choices and stage environments where visibility needs to be kept to a minimum.
Flexible Mounting Options
Whether you need to mount the mic on the head, cheek or body, the MKE Essential Omni works with a wide variety of accessories to suit different productions and performers. From adhesive mounting to clips and magnetic solutions, it can be positioned exactly where you need it to achieve consistent sound while remaining comfortable for the wearer.
Features
- KE 4 Capsule with Warm, Natural Sound - The newly developed KE 4 capsule is derived from Sennheiser’s renowned MKE 2, delivering a warm, detailed tone that flatters speech and vocals. This helps performers sound natural and intelligible, reducing the need for heavy EQ and processing.
- Handles High Sound Pressure Levels - With a maximum sound pressure level of up to 140 dB, the MKE Essential Omni can handle powerful singers and energetic dialogue without breaking up. This means clean, distortion-free audio even in loud musical theatre and live performance settings.
- Sweat-Resistant Umbrella Diaphragm - A patented umbrella diaphragm protects the capsule from sweat and moisture, significantly improving reliability in physically demanding shows. This added durability helps safeguard your investment and reduces the risk of dropouts mid-performance.
- Compact, Inconspicuous Design with 3.5mm Connector - The discreet lavalier form factor is easy to conceal on stage, while the 3.5mm connector provides direct compatibility with suitable Sennheiser XS and Evolution Wireless systems. This makes integration into existing wireless setups straightforward and efficient.
