Product Description
The Remo Ambassador SMT Coated Kick Ebony 20 inch drumhead is a pre-muffled bass head designed to give you tight, controlled tone with deep, musical low end. Combining Remo’s classic 10 mil single-ply coated film with integrated Sub Muffl Technology, it delivers focused punch, added attack and powerful subsonic lows without the need for extra dampening.
Perfect for jazz, fusion and contemporary styles, this head offers a broad tuning range while keeping unwanted overtones in check. The coated surface adds warmth and articulation, while the striking ebony finish looks superb on stage or in the studio. If you want a bass drum sound that sits perfectly in the mix with minimal fuss, the Ambassador SMT Coated Kick Ebony is an excellent choice.
Pre-muffled SMT design
The Ambassador SMT Coated bass drumhead features Remo’s Sub Muffl Technology built directly into the head. This pre-muffled design controls excessive ring and high-mid overtones at the source, giving you a tight, focused sound straight out of the box. It reduces the need for pillows, gels or extra dampening inside the drum, making set-up quicker and more consistent from gig to gig.
10 mil single-ply coated film
Constructed from a single 10 mil ply, this head retains the lively feel and responsiveness that players love about classic Ambassador heads. The coated surface adds a touch of warmth and texture to the attack, making feathering, ghost notes and dynamic playing feel natural and expressive. You get a musical blend of definition and body that works equally well at low and high volumes.
Controlled highs with powerful lows
This model is voiced to tame high and mid frequencies while enhancing low-end punch. The result is a bass drum tone that is full and weighty, yet never boomy or indistinct. Engineers and bandmates will appreciate how easily it slots into a mix, with enough attack to cut through and enough low-end energy to underpin the whole band.
Wide tuning range for modern styles
Designed with a broad tonal spectrum, the Ambassador SMT Coated Kick Ebony works across a wide range of tunings. Whether you prefer a higher, more open jazz tuning or a lower, modern contemporary sound, the head stays controlled and musical. This flexibility makes it a great all-rounder for drummers who cover multiple genres and need a reliable, adaptable bass drum sound.
