RCF NX 945-A Premium Professional PA With Sub 18-AX Subs

What is an "RCF Approved" Bundle? This is just one of a number of packages that the Andertons team have been working on in collaboration with the expert technicians and product specialists at RCF, with the goal of curating a series of PA rigs that cover everything from solo performers right up to full band performances.

Product Description

RCF Says:

"The ultimate portable PA for demanding professionals. The NX 945-A delivers 135 dB of tour-grade power and precision using FiRPHASE zero-phase technology and a premium neodymium compression driver, while dual SUB 18-AX subwoofers provide earth-moving, DSP-controlled bass with Advanced Crossover Engine integration. Built for large venues, outdoor stages, and productions where performance is non-negotiable."

Where This System Excels

This is the top of the range, and it performs accordingly. The NX 945-A is RCF's flagship portable PA speaker — a touring-grade 15" cabinet that brings genuinely high-end audio performance to portable setups. With 2100W peak amplification, a maximum SPL of 135 dB, and FiRPHASE zero-degrees phase technology, this speaker delivers the kind of accuracy and headroom you'd expect from a permanent installation system, in a box you can carry to a gig.

The critical differentiator is the compression driver. The NX 945-A uses a 1.4" neodymium compression driver with a 4" voice coil, crossed over at just 650 Hz. That exceptionally low crossover point — far below most comparable speakers — means the compression driver handles an unusually wide frequency range, taking over well into the upper-mid frequencies where vocal clarity and instrument definition live. The result is noticeably cleaner, more detailed reproduction through the most perceptible part of the frequency spectrum.

Paired with dual SUB 18-AX subwoofers — each running 2200W peak with ACE integration and a full DSP suite — this is a complete professional system capable of handling events of 400 people or more with ease, authority, and precision.

RCF NX 945-A Active Loudspeakers

The NX 945-A is the most powerful portable speaker in RCF's NX 9 series, and it earns that position through engineering rather than marketing. Its 1.4" neodymium compression driver with a large 4" voice coil delivers efficiency and transient response that a conventional 1" driver simply cannot match. The notably low 650 Hz crossover threshold allows the compression driver to reproduce the full upper-mid and high-frequency range — this is where most of the critical vocal and instrument content sits, and where the NX 945-A's precision makes itself heard.

FiRPHASE technology maintains a flat phase response across the entire frequency range, producing a coherent, time-aligned wavefront that holds its character at distance and off-axis. Bass Motion Control manages the 15" neodymium woofer at the low end, allowing extended bass reproduction without over-excursion or distortion. The combined effect is a speaker that sounds natural and accurate at any volume — from background music to full concert levels.

Tour-Ready Build and Connectivity

Six M10 rigging points and four Quick Lock pin positions make the NX 945-A suitable for flown, wall-mounted, truss-mounted, or stand/sub-pole applications — making it as versatile as it is powerful. PowerCON TRUE1 TOP locking mains connectors and an all-plywood cabinet with steel grille make it unambiguously road-ready. Controls on the rear panel include Linear, Boost, Stage, and Volume modes, letting you optimise the speaker for different acoustic environments quickly.

RCF SUB 18-AX Active Subwoofers

The SUB 18-AX is the flagship of RCF's AX subwoofer range, and it matches the NX 945-A in both output and sophistication. A 2200W peak Class-D amplifier drives the 18" driver with a 4" voice coil down to 35 Hz, reaching a maximum SPL of 135 dB. The low-end output is authoritative — the kind that an audience feels physically as well as hears. When two of these are running, the combination of the SUB 18-AX pair and NX 945-A tops creates a full-range system with truly impressive dynamic range and impact.

The Advanced Crossover Engine (ACE) is a key feature of the SUB 18-AX: it uses factory-programmed presets engineered to match RCF's FiRPHASE full-range speakers, aligning phase and timing between the subwoofers and the NX 945-A tops at a deeper level than a standard adjustable crossover can achieve. Setup is straightforward — select the NX 945-A preset, and the ACE handles the rest. The 2.4-inch colour touch panel provides access to 8-band parametric EQ, up to 45 metres of delay, cardioid configuration mode, and eight recallable snapshots for different venues or events. Two SUB 18-AX units can be paired wirelessly and controlled simultaneously via the RCF LiveRemote app.
