Product Description
The Radial Engineering SGI 9V Studio Guitar Interface System is a high-performance line driver that lets you run your guitar or bass signal up to 100 metres (300 ft) without noise, tone loss or added hum. Using a transmitter and receiver linked by a standard XLR mic cable, it keeps your sound natural and consistent whether you are tracking in the studio control room or running off-stage amps and pedalboards on a live show.
Equipped with premium Jensen transformers and now compatible with standard 9V pedalboard power supplies, the SGI 9V integrates easily into modern rigs while preserving every nuance of your playing. It is the ideal solution whenever you need your instrument signal to travel further than a normal guitar lead can manage, without compromising clarity, dynamics or feel.
Take Your Tone Further
The SGI 9V is designed to move your guitar signal over long distances while sounding exactly like a short, high-quality cable. In the studio it lets you sit comfortably in the control room with your guitar while your amp roars away in an isolated live room. On stage it makes it simple to feed off-stage isolation cabs, remote amp rooms or complex pedalboard and wireless setups, all while keeping your tone intact.
Simple Two-Box System
The system is made up of the SGI-TX transmitter and SGI-RX receiver. You plug your guitar into the TX, run a standard balanced XLR microphone cable up to 100 metres, then connect your amp to the RX. The TX uses a discrete buffered circuit to drive the long line, while the RX converts the signal back to the correct impedance for your amplifier. The result is a clean, strong signal at the far end with no fuss and no complicated routing.
Jensen Transformer Equipped
Both the SGI-TX and SGI-RX now feature premium Jensen transformers at the heart of their circuits. These provide galvanic isolation to help prevent hum and buzz from ground loops, while also delivering a wider, flatter frequency response, lower noise and distortion, and improved dynamic range. Your signal arrives at the amp with exceptional clarity, punch and detail, even after travelling the full 100 metres.
Pedalboard Friendly Power
The SGI 9V ships with its own 15V power supply for the transmitter, but it is also compatible with standard pedalboard power bricks. You can power the SGI-TX with any supply from 9V to 15V, and it accepts both centre-pin positive and centre-pin negative polarities, making it easy to drop into existing boards. This flexibility is available on the latest Jensen-equipped version of the SGI.
Features
- Balanced Line Driver up to 100 Metres - The SGI 9V converts your unbalanced guitar or bass signal to a balanced line, allowing runs of up to 100 metres (300 ft) over standard XLR mic cable. This lets you place amps in isolation rooms, backstage or off-stage without suffering the high-frequency roll-off and noise that long instrument cables introduce.
- Jensen Transformer Signal Path - Premium Jensen transformers in both the transmitter and receiver provide isolation and superior audio performance. They help eliminate hum and buzz from ground loops while delivering a flatter frequency response, lower distortion and a better signal-to-noise ratio, so your tone stays clean and accurate over long distances.
- Studio and Stage Versatility - Whether you are recording from the control room into a distant amp or managing complex live rigs with wireless systems, remote pedalboards and off-stage cabinets, the SGI 9V keeps your signal strong and consistent. It is equally at home in professional studios, live venues and touring racks, making it a flexible tool for any guitarist or bassist.
- 9V to 15V Pedalboard Power Compatibility - The SGI-TX can be powered from typical pedalboard power supplies between 9V and 15V, with either centre-pin positive or centre-pin negative polarity. This makes integration into existing pedalboards straightforward, reducing clutter and avoiding the need for dedicated power infrastructure for the system.
