In celebration of PRS’s 40th anniversary, we are pleased to offer this extremely limited PRS McCarty SC56 electric guitar in a McCarty Sunburst finish. Only 400 of these classic-looking, single-cut electric guitars are set to be made!
Steeped in vintage-inspired design, the SC56 is not only a tribute to PRS’s 40th anniversary but also to Ted McCarty’s famed PAF pickup, which was first used in production in 1956, as well as being the year of Paul Reed Smith's birth! Featuring the classic, ‘holy-grail’ electric guitar wood combination of a Mahogany body with carved Maple top in partnership with a Mahogany neck and Rosewood fingerboard, along with a 24.594” scale length and McCarty III vintage-inspired humbuckers, the SC56 blends heritage with refinement and performance and offers the perfect timeless workhorse, built for generations of playing!

PRS Weight-Relief
As with anything PRS does, their unique Weight-Relief design has been meticulously done to the nth degree. Formulated to decrease the weight of the wood by around two-thirds of a pound, this specially crafted weight-relief pattern maintains contact between the body and top at several points to ensure that the guitar doesn’t produce any characteristics often associated with semi-hollow or chambered electric guitars and the tonal transfer, power and sustain found in solid bodied electric guitars remain intact.

Designed and built with the ambition of providing the most authentic humbucker-equipped vintage-inspired electric guitar sound, the PRS McCarty III pickups deliver this sought-after tone by the bucket load.
