Product Description
Known affectionately as “The Black Piccolo”, the Pearl S1330B 13x3 Steel Piccolo Snare has earned its place as a modern classic. Compact, ultra-responsive and effortlessly cutting, it delivers that unmistakable cracking snap that drummers reach for when they need accents to leap out of the mix or an additional voice to bring extra energy to their grooves.
With a rolled steel shell, precision-engineered hardware and road-ready build quality, the S1330B is as at home in the hands of a student as it is on a professional stage or in the studio. Its lively, high-pitched character adds definition and excitement to any kit, whether you are using it as a main snare for funk and pop or as a dedicated effects drum alongside a full-size snare.
The steel shell responds instantly to every nuance of your playing, from ghost notes and tight rimshots to explosive accents. Smooth, accurate tuning comes courtesy of Pearl’s carefully matched tension rods, brass receivers and CL-05 lugs, allowing you to dial in everything from a super-tight pop to a more open, resonant crack without fuss.
Compact in size but huge in personality, the S1330B is a smart, affordable way to expand your sonic palette. If you want a snare that cuts through, inspires creativity and has a proven track record on stages and in rehearsal rooms around the world, this is the piccolo that drummers simply call by name.
The Classic “Black Piccolo” Sound
For over two decades, the S1330B has been widely regarded as the definitive piccolo snare sound. Its bright, articulate voice and fast response make it ideal for sharp backbeats, punchy accents and intricate patterns that need to be heard clearly in any musical setting.
Rolled Steel Shell Snap
The rolled steel shell produces an open, cracking snap that is perfect for cutting through dense mixes. Its natural brightness and projection give your playing a head-turning bite, making it an excellent choice for accents, side-snare duties or as a main snare in styles that demand clarity and attack.
Reliable, Precise Tuning
Precision-fit tension rods working with solid brass receivers ensure smooth, accurate tuning across the head. This stability lets you experiment confidently with different tunings, knowing the drum will hold its pitch and respond consistently session after session.
Compact, Versatile Workhorse
The 13x3 size keeps the drum compact and easy to position, while still delivering impressive volume and presence. Whether you are adding it to an existing kit as an effect snare or building a compact setup, the S1330B offers a versatile voice that suits a wide range of genres and playing situations.
