Paiste 16" PSTX Swiss Flanger Crash Cymbal

The Paiste 16" PSTX Swiss Flanger Crash is a light, ultra-responsive effects cymbal with a warm, exotic voice and a fast, fluttering decay. Designed for precise accents and quick, explosive crashes, it adds a unique, slightly tinny shimmer that cuts through the mix without ever becoming harsh.

With its short sustain, soft feel and complex, rough tonal mix, this crash is perfect when you want character and colour rather than a conventional crash sound. From creative studio work to modern live setups, it delivers lively, washy response at softer volumes, and is equally at home under sticks or hands.

The PSTX Swiss Flanger Crash is all about musicality and control. Its integrated bell and flabby, flexible feel make it easy to shape accents and swells, while the quick fade keeps your grooves clean and uncluttered. If you are building a compact, expressive cymbal setup that stands out from the crowd, this 16" model is a powerful and inspiring choice.

Exotic, Fluttering Crash Voice

With an exotic, warm and slightly tinny character, the PSTX Swiss Flanger Crash delivers a fluttering, almost shimmering crash sound that is worlds apart from a standard bright rock crash. The medium frequency range and complex, rich mix give your accents depth and personality, helping your cymbal parts become a real feature of the music rather than just background colour.

Fast, Controlled Decay

The light weight and short sustain mean this cymbal speaks quickly and gets out of the way just as fast. That quick fade is ideal for tight arrangements, fast fills and intricate grooves where you need impact without lingering wash. It keeps your overall kit sound clean and defined, especially in studio or lower volume situations.

Soft, Flabby Feel and Lively Response

A soft, flabby feel under the stick makes the cymbal very responsive and easy to control. It opens up with minimal effort, so you can play with a light touch and still get a full, explosive accent when you need it. The lively response intensity also makes dynamic playing more expressive, from gentle textures to sharp, cutting hits.

Great for Sticks and Hand Playing

The integrated bell character and washy stick sound make this cymbal versatile across many styles, and it is also well suited to hand playing. That makes it an excellent choice for percussion-led setups, hybrid kits and players who move between sticks, mallets and hands, giving you a wide palette of sounds from a single, compact crash.
