Product Description
The Paiste 12" PSTX Swiss Flanger Crash is a compact, ultra-expressive effects cymbal that delivers explosive, fluttering accents with a warm yet slightly trashy character. Light in weight and quick to speak, it is perfect for adding sharp, exotic punctuation to grooves and fills without overpowering the rest of your kit.
Voiced with a medium frequency range and a complex, rough mix, this Swiss Flanger Crash offers a unique, fluttering response that cuts through modern mixes while still feeling musical. Its short sustain and soft feel make it ideal for precise, controlled accents in both live and studio settings, and its lively response also lends itself brilliantly to hand playing and more experimental setups.
Whether you are building a compact effects stack, enhancing a hybrid kit or simply looking for a fresh accent voice, the PSTX Swiss Flanger Crash gives you a distinctive sound palette in a highly playable, responsive format. It rewards a light touch, reacts instantly to dynamic changes and fades quickly, keeping your grooves clean and articulate.
Exotic, Fluttering Crash Voice
With an exotic, warm and slightly tinny character, the PSTX Swiss Flanger Crash delivers a fluttering, almost wobbling crash sound that stands out from traditional cymbals. This gives drummers a fresh accent option that can instantly add character to fills, breakdowns and transitions without needing excessive volume.
Quick, Controlled Decay
The short sustain and quick fade of this cymbal keep your playing tight and focused, making it ideal when you need accents that hit hard then get out of the way. This is especially useful in busy arrangements or fast music where long, washy crashes would clutter the mix.
Soft Feel and Lively Response
A soft, flabby feel under the stick and lively response intensity make this cymbal very easy to control at lower dynamics. It reacts quickly to even light strokes, so you can explore a wide range of textures from gentle taps to explosive accents without losing definition.
Versatile for Sticks and Hand Playing
Designed with an integrated bell character and washy stick sound, the PSTX Swiss Flanger Crash works equally well in traditional setups or more experimental rigs. Its responsive nature and soft feel also make it well suited to hand playing, opening up creative options for percussionists and hybrid drummers.
