Product Description
The Orangewood Sage Live 12-String is a refined Grand Auditorium cutaway electro acoustic that delivers shimmering, piano-like textures in a beautifully understated Natural Satin finish. With a torrefied solid Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, and premium LR Baggs Anthem electronics, it is built for players who want inspiring tone and rock-solid performance on both stage and sofa.
Part of Orangewood’s Highland collection, Sage Live 12-String pairs all-solid tonewoods with elegant appointments like an ebony fretboard and bridge, mother of pearl inlays and Grover tuners. The result is a responsive, harmonically rich instrument that rewards a light touch just as much as big, open strums, while the included hard case keeps it ready for the next rehearsal or gig.
All-Solid Tonewoods with Torrefied Top
The torrefied solid Sitka spruce top has been carefully heat-treated to emulate the character of a well-played vintage acoustic, offering a quick, lively response with enhanced warmth and sweetness. Paired with solid mahogany back and sides, Sage Live 12-String produces a focused low end, clear mids and a sparkling top that lets each of the twelve strings ring out with definition.
Grand Auditorium Cutaway Comfort
The Grand Auditorium body shape strikes a balance between comfort and projection, making this guitar equally at home with fingerstyle, strumming and flatpicking. The cutaway design gives you easy access to higher frets, so melodic lines, extended chords and lead parts all feel natural, even on a 12-string neck.
Stage-Ready LR Baggs Anthem Electronics
Equipped with LR Baggs Anthem electronics, Sage Live 12-String delivers a natural, detailed amplified sound that captures the nuance of the guitar rather than sounding like a generic piezo. Whether you are playing through a PA, acoustic amp or interface, you can expect a clear, balanced tone that sits beautifully in a mix without excessive EQ.
Premium Playability and Hardware
A comfortable C-shaped mahogany neck, ebony fretboard and TUSQ nut and saddle work together to provide a smooth, consistent playing feel across all twelve strings. Grover 305 tuners offer reliable, precise tuning stability, while the ebony bridge and quality Ernie Ball Earthwood Phosphor Bronze 12-String Light set help the guitar resonate freely and feel responsive under the fingers.
Features
- Torrefied Solid Sitka Spruce Top - The torrefaction process gives the solid Sitka spruce top a more open, mature voice, improving resonance and responsiveness. This means a richer, more complex tone right out of the box, with excellent clarity across all twelve strings.
- Solid Mahogany Back and Sides - Solid mahogany back and sides add warmth, focus and a strong midrange presence. The combination with spruce delivers a balanced sound that works well for both solo performance and ensemble playing, keeping your 12-string shimmer controlled and musical.
- LR Baggs Anthem Electronics - The LR Baggs Anthem system provides a highly natural amplified tone, blending microphone detail with the reliability of an undersaddle pickup. This gives you a clear, feedback-resistant sound that translates the guitar’s acoustic character accurately on stage or in the studio.
- Premium Ebony and Grover Appointments - An ebony fretboard and bridge enhance note definition and sustain, while Grover 305 tuners ensure smooth, precise tuning adjustments. Combined with mother of pearl inlays and a Natural Satin finish, these details make Sage Live 12-String feel and look like a high-end instrument.
