Orangewood Ava Jr Mini Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar in Black Satin

The Orangewood Ava Jr Mini Grand Concert in Black Satin is a compact, all solid acoustic that punches well above its size. With a torrefied solid Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, and a shorter 23.5 inch scale, it delivers a warm, responsive voice in a comfortable, travel friendly package. Whether you are a smaller player, a songwriter looking for an inspiring couch guitar, or you simply want a high quality acoustic that is easy to take anywhere, Ava Jr is built to keep you playing longer and sounding better.

Part of Orangewood’s Highland collection, Ava Jr combines premium tonewoods and thoughtful design with a sleek, modern aesthetic. The satin black finish, ebony fingerboard and bridge, and mother of pearl inlays give it a refined, stage ready look, while quality components like Grover open gear tuners and TUSQ nut and saddle keep tuning stable and tone consistent. With a hard case included, it is ready to go from home to rehearsal and beyond.

Compact Mini Grand Concert Design

The Mini Grand Concert body shape offers a more compact footprint than a full size dreadnought, making Ava Jr incredibly comfortable to hold and play for longer sessions. The smaller body sits closer to the player and is ideal for younger or smaller framed guitarists, as well as anyone who prefers a more intimate feel. Despite its reduced size, the Grand Concert outline still provides a balanced tonal response that works well for fingerstyle, light strumming and recording.

All Solid Tonewoods with Torrefied Top

Ava Jr features an all solid construction with a torrefied solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides. Torrefaction is a heat treatment process that helps the spruce behave more like well aged wood, enhancing resonance, responsiveness and overall stability. Paired with the warmth and midrange focus of solid mahogany, you get a rich, open acoustic tone that will continue to develop character the more you play.

Short Scale Comfort and Playability

The 23.5 inch scale length and comfortable C shape mahogany neck make Ava Jr exceptionally easy to play. The shorter scale reduces string tension, so bends feel softer under the fingers and chords require less effort, which is especially helpful for beginners or players building finger strength. Combined with the 43 mm nut width and smooth ebony fingerboard, it offers a relaxed, inviting playing experience that encourages you to pick it up more often.

Premium Appointments and Included Hard Case

High end touches like the ebony bridge and fretboard, mother of pearl inlays and Grover open gear tuners give Ava Jr a refined, boutique feel. The TUSQ nut and saddle help maximise sustain and tonal clarity, while Ernie Ball Earthwood Phosphor Bronze 12–54 strings provide a balanced, musical acoustic sound straight out of the box. With a hard case included, your guitar is protected between sessions and on the move.
