Product Description
The Neumann KH 80 DSP is an ultra-compact, digitally controlled active studio monitor that delivers true reference-class sound in even the tightest spaces. With powerful bi-amplification, a precision DSP engine and Neumann’s renowned acoustic design, it gives you accurate, reliable monitoring for music production, broadcast, editing and content creation. This white version looks clean and modern in any studio, writing room or desktop setup.
At the heart of the KH 80 DSP is a powerful digital signal processor that optimises the crossover, protects the drivers and allows deep room alignment when used with Neumann.Control software. The result is a compact monitor that behaves like a far larger system, with impressive headroom, tight low end and exceptional clarity. Whether you are mixing, checking dialogue or crafting sound design, the KH 80 DSP is built to reveal detail and translate your work with confidence.
Neumann’s mathematically modelled waveguide ensures controlled, predictable dispersion, so you get a wide sweet spot and consistent imaging in real-world rooms. The cabinet is moulded from low-resonance materials with integrated waveguide and dual front ports, while both the 1 inch tweeter and 4 inch woofer are protected by metal grilles for everyday studio durability. Rear-panel controls let you tailor the response to your setup, and network connectivity opens up advanced configuration and alignment via a standard IP network.
Despite its small footprint, the KH 80 DSP offers serious power reserves, with separate high-efficiency amplifiers for woofer and tweeter, independent limiters and a universal switched-mode power supply. Low self-noise and a wide, linear frequency response make it suitable for critical listening at both close and moderate distances. For producers and engineers who need no-compromise monitoring in compact spaces, the KH 80 DSP is a powerful, professional solution.
DSP Control and Room Alignment
The KH 80 DSP’s digital core enables an eighth-order phase-linear DSP crossover and powerful filtering options. When connected to an IP network and used with the Neumann.Control iPad app, you can perform detailed room alignment using eight full-parametric IIR filters plus low and high shelf global balance controls, as well as adjust delay and logo brightness. This lets you tune the monitor precisely to your room so your mixes translate more reliably.
Compact Cabinet with Optimised Dispersion
The ultra-compact cabinet is moulded from low-resonance materials, with the waveguide and dual bass ports integrated into the front baffle. Neumann’s mathematically optimised dispersion provides a wide, controlled sweet spot and consistent imaging, helping you work accurately even in challenging acoustic environments or tight desktop setups.
Powerful Bi-Amplified Design
Each KH 80 DSP uses separate high-efficiency amplifiers for the 4 inch woofer (120 W) and 1 inch tweeter (70 W), with independent soft clip, peak and thermal limiters plus a woofer excursion limiter. This bi-amplified design delivers impressive maximum SPL for the size, clean transient response and reliable protection, so you can monitor confidently at realistic levels without unwanted distortion.
Flexible Connectivity and Control
A 14 kOhm electronically balanced input with XLR-F and 6.3 mm jack connections integrates easily into professional and project studios. Rear-panel controls allow adjustment of low-mid response, input sensitivity/output level and automatic standby, while the front logo LED indicates limit and clip status. Network connectivity via standard IP infrastructure gives you access to deeper configuration and system control when required.
Features
- Ultra-Compact Reference Monitor - A small 3.7 litre cabinet with integrated waveguide and dual front ports delivers genuine reference-class performance in tight spaces, ideal for desktops, edit suites and smaller control rooms.
- Advanced DSP Engine - An internal DSP handles an eighth-order phase-linear crossover, protection and detailed room alignment via Neumann.Control, helping you achieve a neutral, accurate response tailored to your environment.
- High-Power Bi-Amplification - Dedicated 120 W (woofer) and 70 W (tweeter) amplifiers with comprehensive limiting provide high maximum SPL with low distortion, so you can monitor at realistic levels without sacrificing clarity.
- Flexible I/O and Network Control - Balanced XLR and 6.3 mm inputs, rear-panel tuning options and IP network connectivity for iPad-based control make integration and configuration straightforward in a wide range of studio setups.
