Morley
Morley is a legendary name in the world of guitar effects. The brand is most well-known for its robust, tank-like wah pedals; however it also produces various other effects such as boost, distortion and fuzz.
Morley
Morley was founded all the way back in the late '60s by brothers Marv and Ray Lubow. Originally called Tel-Ray Electronics, the siblings started out by creating small alternatives to cumbersome leslie speakers. Later re-named Morley, from 1974-onwards the brand focused on creating electro-optical wah and volume pedals.
In 1994, Morley produced the world's first switchless wah. This design would allow players to engage the pedal without needing to click a dedicated footswitch, as the wah effect would simply switch on as soon as the rocking plate was moved by the player's foot. This ergonomic technology is still used in many of Morley's current guitar pedals.
Morley's stompboxes are also unique for their incredibly robust enclosures. While some guitarists may be put off by the size of their wah and volume pedals, they are engineered to survive the rigours of the road. That's why so many high-profile players rely on Morley's effects, including Steve Vai, Mark Tremonti, Michael Amott, George Lynch and DJ Ashba - all of whom have their own signature Morley wah pedals.
