Product Description
The Midas DN4888 is a versatile StageConnect breakout box designed to expand the connectivity of modern mixing environments. Featuring 8 balanced XLR inputs and 8 balanced XLR outputs, it provides seamless integration for both front of house and monitor applications. With support for sub-millisecond latency, uncompressed 24-bit PCM audio at 44.1 or 48 kHz, and flexible bi-directional transmission, the DN4888 is ideal for demanding live sound environments. Its dual Ultranet outputs make it straightforward to connect directly to Behringer P16 personal monitoring systems or Turbosound iQ speakers, ensuring efficient and practical stage setups. Built with scalability in mind, the DN4888 allows daisy chaining with other StageConnect devices, providing expanded analogue I/O options while automatically negotiating channel assignments. Power and control data can also be transmitted through the same XLR cable, reducing cabling requirements and ensuring reliable stage connectivity. Whether deployed as a standalone interface or within the broader StageConnect ecosystem, the DN4888 delivers professional-grade performance, making it the perfect choice for engineers seeking flexibility, reliability, and high-quality sound transmission.
Features
- 8x8 Balanced Analogue Connectivity:
Provides 8 XLR line inputs and 8 XLR line outputs, offering flexible integration for microphones, in-ear systems and other analogue devices. - StageConnect Transmission:
Delivers 32 channels of uncompressed 24-bit audio at sub-millisecond latency using standard XLR or DMX cabling for efficient stage connectivity. - Dual Ultranet Outputs:
Feeds Behringer P16 personal monitoring mixers and Turbosound iQ speakers directly, enabling simple and scalable monitoring configurations.
StageConnect Flexibility:
The DN4888 is part of the growing StageConnect ecosystem, designed to simplify stage setups with reliable bi-directional audio transmission. Supporting up to 32 channels of audio, control data, and remote power delivery through a single XLR connection, it allows for faster deployment with fewer cables. This flexibility enables engineers to expand their system without compromising performance, while ensuring seamless compatibility with other StageConnect-enabled devices such as the Behringer WING and HUB4. Its ability to cascade with other DN48XX units further extends system scalability.
Professional Integration:
With high-quality 24-bit A/D and D/A conversion and impressive dynamic range, the DN4888 delivers exceptional audio fidelity. It is an excellent solution for connecting wireless microphone receivers, in-ear monitor transmitters, or providing additional analogue inserts for a console. Engineers can take advantage of its low distortion and wide frequency response, ensuring that sound remains clean and accurate. The robust build and industry-standard connectors make it a reliable choice for both touring and installed sound applications.
Ecosystem and Expansion:
The DN4888 was designed to work seamlessly with the StageConnect ecosystem, ensuring compatibility across devices and opening up a wide range of use cases. From side rack integration to distributed stage setups, its scalable design allows for growth as system requirements evolve. By combining analogue I/O expansion with Ultranet connectivity, it bridges traditional analogue workflows with modern digital ecosystems, making it a future-ready tool for professionals who need versatile and efficient solutions.
