Meinl Waxed 5B Drumstick American Hickory

The Meinl Waxed 5B American Hickory Drumsticks are designed for drummers who want a classic 5B feel with added control and a touch of vintage character. A thin wax coating improves grip without feeling sticky, while the balanced medium to medium light weight keeps your playing responsive and comfortable across long rehearsals and gigs.

Crafted from durable American hickory and finished in Germany, these sticks deliver a clear, articulate response on both drums and cymbals. The acorn tip helps you pull definition and shimmer from your cymbals, while the 5B diameter gives you enough mass for solid backbeats and powerful accents without feeling cumbersome in the hand.

With a familiar 406 mm length and a 15.1 mm diameter, the Meinl Waxed 5B sits right in the sweet spot for rock, pop, worship and general all round playing. The subtle wax finish not only looks great, it also helps the sticks stay secure in your hands as the set heats up, giving you the confidence to play with more dynamics and expression.

Waxed Finish for Confident Grip

A thin layer of wax is applied to each stick to enhance grip and control, especially when your hands start to sweat. This subtle coating lets the stick sit securely in your fingers without feeling overly tacky, so you can relax your grip, reduce fatigue and play more fluidly. The wax also gives the sticks a tasteful vintage look that stands out from standard finishes.

American Hickory Durability and Feel

Made from American hickory, these sticks offer an ideal balance of strength, flexibility and shock absorption. Hickory is renowned for its ability to withstand heavy playing while still feeling lively and responsive, helping to protect your hands and wrists from excess vibration. It is a trusted choice for drummers who need reliable sticks that can handle regular use.

Acorn Tip for Articulate Response

The acorn shaped tip provides a focused yet musical contact point on both cymbals and drumheads. This shape helps you achieve a clear, articulate stick sound with defined ride patterns, crisp hi hat work and punchy snare strokes. Whether you are playing tight grooves or more open, expressive parts, the tip design supports precise, controlled articulation.

Balanced 5B Size for Versatile Power

With a 5B diameter and a medium to medium light weight, these sticks deliver a satisfying amount of power without feeling overly heavy. The 15.1 mm thickness gives you a solid, confident grip, while the 406 mm length keeps the balance point comfortable and familiar. This makes the Meinl Waxed 5B a versatile choice for players who want one stick that can cover a wide range of styles and dynamics.
