Product Description
The Meinl Cymbal Bacon is a simple, clip-on stainless steel beaded chain that instantly adds a sizzling, rivet-style shimmer to any cymbal in your setup. Without drilling, tools or permanent mods, you can drop it onto your ride, crash or effects cymbals for that classic, airy sizzle that cuts through in jazz, funk, fusion, pop and beyond.
Lightweight and surface-friendly, the Cymbal Bacon sits freely on top of your cymbal and dances with every stroke, creating a lively, musical wash without choking the cymbal or dulling its natural tone. It works with any standard cymbal stand and can be moved mid-set in seconds, making it an effortless way to expand your sonic palette.
Instant Sizzle for Any Cymbal
The Meinl Cymbal Bacon gives you the sound of rivets without committing to drilling holes in your favourite cymbals. The 10 ½ inch stainless steel beaded chain bounces across the cymbal surface as you play, adding a shimmering, sizzling layer on top of your existing sound. It is ideal for bringing rides to life, softening crash attacks and creating smoky, vintage-style textures on demand.
Tool-Free, Non-Permanent Design
There is no hardware to install and no modifications required. Simply place the Cymbal Bacon on top of the cymbal, or position the thin washer under or above your existing felts on any cymbal stand. When you want a clean cymbal sound again, just lift it off. This non-permanent approach keeps your cymbals intact while still giving you access to classic rivet-style effects.
Works Across Your Whole Setup
From traditional and brilliant finishes to raw, hand-hammered cymbals, the Cymbal Bacon works across your entire rig. Try it on rides for a smoky jazz wash, on crashes for a trashy, sustained shimmer, or on chinas and effects cymbals for unique, characterful textures. Its lightweight construction avoids excessive damping, so your cymbals still open up and breathe naturally.
Effortless On-Stage Flexibility
The simple, drop-on design means you can move the Cymbal Bacon between cymbals mid-song or between tunes with no fuss. Because it fits any standard cymbal stand and can be used with or without felts, it is a quick way to adapt your sound to different songs, ensembles and venues without changing cymbals or reconfiguring your hardware.
