The Mapex Saturn VI Fast Rock shell pack in Royal Purple Burst is a powerful, expressive kit built for drummers who need pro-level tone and effortless playability. Its hybrid maple and walnut shells deliver a deep, musical voice with rich low end and crisp attack, while Mapex’s SONIClear technology makes tuning quick, consistent and reliable. Whether you are on stage or in the studio, this is a kit that responds to every nuance and rewards you with clarity, projection and serious visual impact.

At the heart of the Saturn VI sound is its hybrid shell construction, pairing the warmth and familiarity of maple with the focused punch of walnut. The result is a kit that feels instantly comfortable under the sticks yet has the extra depth and articulation modern players demand. Add in the Fast Rock sizes and you get a responsive, tightly focused setup that covers everything from punchy rock backbeats to detailed fusion and pop grooves.

Mapex have refined the Saturn formula with a host of smart design touches that make life easier for working drummers. SONIClear bearing edges and the matching tom holder and suspension system help the drums sing freely, with more sustain and a wider tuning range. Air Flow venting and Sonic Pedestal floor tom feet further enhance resonance and projection, so your sound stays open and alive at any volume.

Finished in a stunning Royal Purple Burst, this shell pack looks every bit as serious as it sounds. The sleek, modern aesthetic complements the advanced engineering under the hood, giving you a kit that is as inspiring to look at as it is to play. If you want a versatile, professional drum set that combines classic Saturn tone with contemporary performance features, the Saturn VI Fast Rock is an outstanding choice.

Hybrid Maple/Walnut Shells

The defining feature of the Saturn VI is its hybrid shell construction, combining maple for warmth and musicality with walnut for added low-end weight and focus. This blend gives you a rich, full-bodied tone that sits perfectly in a mix, with enough punch to cut through loud guitars yet plenty of sensitivity for lighter playing. It is a versatile sound that works across genres and responds beautifully to different tunings.

SONIClear Bearing Edge

Mapex’s SONIClear bearing edge is designed to make tuning faster, easier and more consistent. By allowing the drumhead to sit flatter and make better contact with the shell, it improves head seating, reduces unwanted overtones and opens up the drum’s natural voice. You spend less time fighting with lugs and more time playing, with a wider usable tuning range from low and thunderous to tight and articulate.

SONIClear Tom Holder and Suspension System

The SONIClear tom holder and suspension system support the drums in a way that maximises resonance and sustain. By minimising shell contact and isolating the toms from hardware vibrations, the system lets the shells vibrate more freely, resulting in a more open, singing tone. It also provides stable, precise positioning so you can dial in your ideal setup and trust it to stay put gig after gig.

Air Flow Venting and Sonic Pedestal Floor Tom Feet

Air Flow venting and Sonic Pedestal floor tom feet work together to enhance projection and resonance. The venting helps the air move more efficiently through the shell for a quicker, more responsive feel, while the pedestal feet lift the floor tom slightly off the ground so it can resonate more fully. The result is a kit that feels lively under the sticks and projects clearly, even on busy stages.

• Hybrid Maple/Walnut Shells - The combination of maple warmth and walnut punch delivers a deep, musical tone with strong low end and clear attack, giving you a versatile sound that works in both live and studio settings.
• SONIClear Bearing Edge - Improved head-to-shell contact makes tuning quicker and more accurate, with a broader sweet spot so your drums sound great across a wide range of tensions.
• SONIClear Tom Holder & Suspension System - Isolated mounting preserves shell resonance and sustain while providing rock-solid positioning, helping your toms sing freely and stay exactly where you set them.
• Air Flow Venting & Sonic Pedestal Floor Tom Feet - Enhanced air movement and elevated floor tom feet increase projection and resonance, giving your kit a more open, powerful and responsive feel.
