Product Description
The Mapex Black Panther Nemesis 14 x 5.5 snare is built to hit hard with a dark, focused voice that commands attention. Its hybrid Walnut/Padauk/Walnut shell, die cast hoops and SONIClear 45° bearing edges combine to deliver a thick, articulate crack with impressive projection and control, ideal for modern rock, metal and high energy live playing.
With its Mocha Satin finish, staggered locking lugs and eight air vents, the Nemesis is as refined as it is ruthless. It offers a powerful, cutting sound that stays tight under heavy playing, while still responding sensitively to ghost notes and dynamic changes. If you need a snare that can dominate the mix without sacrificing precision, this Black Panther is designed to be your go to.
Dark, Commanding Hybrid Shell
The 7 ply, 7.2 mm Walnut/Padauk/Walnut shell gives the Nemesis its signature dark authority. Walnut provides a warm, rounded low end and controlled mids, while the Padauk core adds density and punch. The result is a thick, weighty backbeat that feels solid under the stick and easily fills the room without sounding harsh or brittle.
Die Cast Hoops for Focus and Control
Die cast hoops clamp the head firmly and evenly, tightening up overtones and enhancing rimshot definition. This gives the Nemesis a very controlled, studio ready sound straight out of the box, with a powerful, consistent crack that cuts through dense guitars and loud stages. They also add durability and tuning stability for demanding touring schedules.
Eight Air Vents for Extra Projection
Eight strategically placed air vents increase the shell’s breath and projection, helping every stroke speak clearly. Air escapes more quickly, giving the drum a faster response, added volume and a more immediate feel under the stick. This design helps your backbeat stay present in the mix, even at lower tunings or in bigger rooms.
SONIClear 45° Bearing Edge
The SONIClear 45° bearing edge allows the head to sit flatter and make better contact with the shell, simplifying tuning and broadening the usable tuning range. You can dial in tight, articulate crack or fat, low thud with ease, and the drum retains clarity and tone across the spectrum, making it versatile enough for both studio work and live performance.
