Product Description
The Lollar sB Strat Pickup Set in Matte Black / Nickel delivers the muscular, vocal character of a smooth PAF in a direct drop-in Strat format. Using a single coil from Lollar’s acclaimed dB humbucker and housing it in a traditional Strat-sized cover, this set offers thicker mids, stronger sustain and a more focused attack than a typical Strat set, while still retaining the clarity and definition players expect from a great single coil.
If you love the feel and ergonomics of a Strat but find standard pickups too glassy, bright or scooped, the sB set gives you a more powerful, blade-style voice that sits beautifully in a mix. Designed to complement the full-sized dB humbucker, these pickups can anchor an SSH configuration or work as a balanced three-pickup set, giving you a consistent tonal identity across every position.
PAF-Inspired Voice in a Strat Format
The sB for Strat is built from one side of the dB humbucker, capturing that smooth, vocal lower midrange and refined top end that players associate with a great PAF. Instead of the typical chime-heavy Strat sound, you get a more substantial, singing tone that flatters overdriven amps and pedals, while still cleaning up beautifully from the volume control.
Blade Coil for Even String Response
Using a blade rather than individual pole pieces ensures consistent output and tone across all strings, even with wide bends and alternative tunings. The result is a more even, controlled response that feels solid under the fingers and helps complex chords and melodic lines ring out with authority.
Enhanced Sustain, Bloom and Clarity
These pickups are voiced for a stronger sustain and a noticeable bloom to the note’s attack, giving your playing extra dimension and feel. Despite their thicker, more powerful sound, they retain the clarity and definition Lollar blade pickups are known for, so you can stack gain without losing articulation or getting lost in the mix.
Matched Three-Piece Set
This set includes dedicated neck, middle and bridge pickups, each calibrated for its position. With DC resistances stepping from 5.6k in the neck through 6.4k in the middle to 7.2k in the bridge, the output and EQ balance smoothly across the switch, giving you usable, musical tones in every position without sudden jumps in volume or harshness.
Features
- PAF-Flavoured Tonality - Voiced with a vocal lower midrange and smoother top end, the sB Strat set delivers a tone more reminiscent of a refined PAF than a bright, scooped Strat single coil, ideal if you want more body and warmth without sacrificing definition.
- Blade-Style Single Coils - The continuous blade design provides even output across all strings, improving note balance and ensuring bends and vibrato stay loud and clear, which is especially useful for expressive lead work.
- Drop-In Strat Replacement - Each pickup is sized to fit a traditional Strat pickup route, so you can upgrade your existing guitar with a more powerful, modern voice without any modification to the body.
- Calibrated Three-Pickup Set - With dedicated neck, middle and bridge units and carefully chosen DC resistances, this set offers consistent output and tonal balance across all positions, making it easy to dial in versatile sounds for clean, crunch and high gain.
