Product Description
The Lollar sB Strat Pickup Set in Matte Black / Chrome delivers the muscular, vocal character of a smooth PAF-style humbucker in a convenient Strat-sized single-coil format. Using one side of Lollar’s acclaimed dB humbucker, these blade pickups drop straight into a traditional Strat route and offer thicker lows and mids, stronger sustain, and a blooming note attack, while still retaining the clarity and definition players expect from a top-tier single-coil set.
Instead of the typical glassy, scooped Strat sound, the sB set focuses on a rich lower midrange and a more solid fundamental, giving your Strat a powerful, singing voice that sits beautifully in a mix. Whether you run them as a full three-pickup set or combine neck and middle with a dB humbucker in the bridge for an SSH configuration, the sB Strat pickups give you a cohesive, modern blade aesthetic with a refined, vintage-inspired tone.
PAF-Inspired Voice in a Strat Format
The sB for Strat takes a single coil from Lollar’s dB humbucker and reshapes it to fit a standard Strat pickup route. The result is a tone that leans far more towards a smooth PAF character than a traditional bright, scooped Strat pickup. You get a vocal, lower-mid focus that adds authority to chords and a singing quality to single notes, ideal for players who want a more substantial, humbucker-like voice without abandoning their Strat.
Thicker Tone with Exceptional Clarity
While the sB set is noticeably thicker and fuller than a typical Strat set, it still maintains impressive clarity and note separation. The blade design ensures even string response, while the carefully voiced coils keep complex chords articulate and lead lines defined. You can push gain without the sound turning muddy, making these pickups equally at home with clean, edge-of-breakup, and high-gain tones.
Balanced Set for Every Position
This three-piece set is specifically calibrated for neck, middle, and bridge positions, with DC resistances of 5.6k, 6.4k, and 7.2k respectively. That careful balance means smooth volume and tonal transitions as you move through the selector switch, with each position offering its own character while still feeling like part of a unified system. The bridge has extra punch and cut, the middle adds versatility, and the neck delivers warmth and bloom.
Designed to Pair with Lollar dB Humbuckers
If you love the sound and look of Lollar’s dB humbucker, the sB Strat pickups are the perfect match. They share the same blade aesthetic and tonal DNA, making it easy to build an SSH setup with sB in the neck and middle and a dB in the bridge. This gives you a powerful, cohesive rig that covers everything from articulate cleans to thick, saturated rock tones, all while maintaining a consistent visual style.
Features
- PAF-Like Lower Midrange Focus - Voiced to emphasise a vocal lower midrange reminiscent of a smooth PAF, these pickups move your Strat away from thin, glassy tones and into a richer, more authoritative sonic space that sits beautifully in a band mix.
- Thicker Sound with Blade Clarity - The blade-style design delivers a thicker, more powerful tone than typical Strat single-coils, while still retaining the clarity and definition associated with Lollar’s other blade pickups, so every note remains articulate under gain.
- Calibrated Three-Piece Set - With dedicated neck, middle, and bridge models (5.6k, 6.4k, and 7.2k DC respectively), the set is carefully balanced for consistent output and feel across all positions, giving you usable tones at every switch setting.
- Drop-In Strat Replacement - Designed to fit a traditional Strat pickup route, the sB set installs as a straightforward replacement, letting you upgrade to a more powerful, PAF-inspired voice without any special routing or modification.
