Product Description
The Lollar sB Strat Neck Pickup in Matte Black / Chrome delivers the warmth and sustain of a refined PAF-style voice in a convenient Strat-sized package. Using one coil from Lollar’s acclaimed dB humbucker, it drops straight into a standard Strat neck route and transforms the familiar single-coil chime into a thicker, more vocal tone with impressive clarity and definition.
Instead of the usual bright, glassy and scooped Strat sound, the sB Strat Neck emphasises a strong lower midrange and a smooth, blooming attack that feels instantly inspiring under the fingers. It is ideal if you love the feel and ergonomics of a Strat but want a more muscular, humbucker-inspired neck tone for everything from expressive blues to modern rock and fusion. With its sleek matte black cover and chrome blade, it also brings a contemporary visual twist to your guitar.
Designed to work perfectly with 500k pots and a 0.047µF capacitor, the sB Strat Neck sits comfortably alongside higher output bridge options while still cleaning up beautifully when you roll back the volume. Whether you pair it with other sB Strat pickups or match it with a full-sized dB humbucker in the bridge, it delivers a cohesive, powerful and noise-free front position sound.
PAF-Inspired Warmth in a Strat-Sized Coil
The sB Strat Neck takes one side of Lollar’s dB humbucker and reshapes it to fit a traditional Strat pickup route. The result is a neck tone with a vocal lower midrange and smooth top end that feels closer to a refined PAF than a typical Strat single-coil. You get a thicker, more authoritative voice that still retains the nuance and touch sensitivity players expect from Lollar.
Enhanced Sustain and Bloom
By borrowing the architecture of the dB humbucker, the sB Strat Neck offers a stronger sustain and a noticeable bloom to each note’s attack. Chords feel fuller and more three-dimensional, while single notes hang on longer and develop in a satisfying, musical way. This makes it an excellent choice for lyrical lead work and dynamic, expressive playing.
Thick Yet Clear Blade-Style Response
Unlike many thicker-sounding pickups that sacrifice definition, the sB Strat Neck retains the clarity and articulation associated with Lollar’s blade single-coils. The continuous blade ensures even string-to-string balance, whether you use vintage-style or modern string spacing, and keeps complex chords and extended voicings clear and intelligible at any gain level.
Perfect Match for Modern SSH Setups
The sB Strat Neck is voiced to complement Lollar’s dB humbucker in the bridge, making it ideal for players building an SSH configuration with consistent output and character across all positions. Use it on its own for a powerful neck sound, or combine it with an sB middle and bridge for a full three-pickup set that shares the same aesthetic, feel and tonal DNA.
Features
- PAF-Flavoured Neck Tone in Strat Format - Delivers a smooth, lower mid-focused voice reminiscent of a classic PAF, but in a direct drop-in Strat neck size. Perfect if you want more warmth and body from your Strat without routing or major modifications.
- Blade-Style Coil for Even String Balance - The chrome blade design provides consistent output across all strings, eliminating dead spots and ensuring chords and bends stay balanced, whether you use heavy vibrato or alternate tunings.
- Thicker Sound with High Clarity - Offers a fuller, more powerful tone than a typical Strat single-coil while maintaining excellent clarity and note separation. Ideal for gainier styles where you need punch without mud.
- Optimised for 500k Pots and 0.047µF Cap - Voiced to work with 500k potentiometers and a 0.047µF capacitor, making it easy to integrate into modern wiring schemes and to balance with higher output bridge pickups for a cohesive overall sound.
