Lollar sB Strat Middle Pickup in Matte Black / Gold

*Please note that the product image is for illustrative purposes*

The Lollar sB Strat Middle Pickup in Matte Black / Gold delivers a thicker, more vocal take on classic Strat tones while dropping straight into a standard single coil route. Taking one coil from Lollar’s acclaimed dB humbucker and reshaping it into a Strat-sized blade pickup, it offers enhanced sustain, a blooming note attack and a smooth, PAF-inspired lower midrange that stays clear and articulate in any mix.

Instead of the familiar glassy, scooped character of a traditional Strat pickup, the sB Middle gives you a richer, more muscular voice without sacrificing definition. It is ideal if you want your Strat to punch harder for rock, fusion or modern worship tones, yet still clean up beautifully with your volume control. Use it as part of a full three-pickup sB set, or combine it with a Lollar dB humbucker in the bridge for a powerful SSH configuration that looks and sounds perfectly matched.

PAF-Inspired Voice in a Strat Format

The sB for Strat is voiced to echo the smooth, vocal quality of a great PAF rather than a bright, scooped single coil. You get a strong, singing fundamental in the lower mids that helps lead lines stand out and chords feel fuller, making your middle position far more usable for driven tones and fat, expressive cleans.

Blade Coil for Even String Response

Using a blade instead of individual pole pieces ensures consistent output and tone across all six strings, even with aggressive bends or non-traditional string spacing. This gives you a more even, controlled response that is particularly helpful for modern playing styles and extended vibrato where you never want notes to drop in volume.

Drop-In Strat Replacement

The sB Strat Middle Pickup is designed to fit a traditional Strat pickup route, so you can upgrade without any modification to your guitar. You keep the familiar look and ergonomics of a Strat-style single coil, while gaining the power, sustain and tonal depth of Lollar’s dB-inspired blade design.

Balanced Output for Versatile Sets

With an average DC resistance of 6.4k in the middle position, the sB balances perfectly between its neck and bridge counterparts or alongside a full-sized dB humbucker. This makes it easy to build an SSH or three-pickup set where every position is usable, musically voiced and level-matched for smooth transitions on stage or in the studio.

• PAF-Like Lower Midrange - Voiced with a strong, vocal lower midrange reminiscent of a smooth PAF, the sB Middle trades typical Strat scoop and glass for a thicker, more musical core that helps solos sing and rhythm parts sit confidently in the mix.
• Enhanced Sustain and Note Bloom - Derived from one coil of the Lollar dB humbucker, this pickup offers a noticeable increase in sustain and a blooming note attack, giving your playing a more expressive, dynamic feel whether you are running clean or overdriven.
• Blade-Style Single Coil Clarity - While it is thicker than a traditional Strat pickup, the sB retains the clarity and definition associated with Lollar’s blade single coils, so complex chords, arpeggios and fast runs remain articulate at any gain level.
• Ideal for SSH and Three-Pickup Sets - Designed to complement both sB neck and bridge models and the full-sized dB humbucker, the middle pickup slots seamlessly into SSH or three-pickup configurations, giving you a cohesive aesthetic and consistent output across all switch positions.
