Kick Mic is a reimagination of bass drum capture. It provides instant attack, clarity, and defined low-end power from a single position inside your drum. Traditional kick drum microphones lose directional control below 2 kHz, becoming nearly omnidirectional at 200Hz the core energy zone of the bass drum. This leads to bleed, reflections, and low-end buildup. Kick Mic maintains directional integrity down to 50 Hz, delivering a focused, powerful, and controlled kick sound straight from the source.

Lauten Audio’s new KC608 capsule houses a 17 mm diaphragm in a 40 mm element with a rear-vented chamber, preserving polar pattern integrity to 50 Hz for exceptional transient response and timbral accuracy. Kick Mic responds instantly to beater attack while managing air turbulence through Air Coupling Modes. This results in high-impact, chest-pounding sound with clarity and presence.

Natural, uncoloured tone makes EQ decisions faster and more flexible, adapting easily to different drum types. Onboard high-pass and low-pass filters give instant tonal control, from punchy attack to smooth low-end. A hybrid of through-hole and surface-mount components achieves fast transient response with musical warmth and depth.

Built for touring, Kick Mic integrates easily with internal mounting systems and delivers consistent sound, night after night. Better still, the noise-rejecting condenser design reduces cymbal and drum bleed, minimizing the need for gates, corrective EQ, and phase adjustments. Compact dimensions and a 180° swivel mount make positioning effortless, even in tight kick ports.
