Product Description
The K&M 12338 Expandable Conductor Desk is a robust, professional-grade music desk designed specifically for conductors who need extra width and rock-solid stability. Crafted from multi-ply laminated beech wood and finished in black, it offers a refined, understated look that fits perfectly in orchestral pits, rehearsal rooms and concert halls. This is the desk section only and is intended for use with compatible K&M conductor stands 12330 or 12331 via a secure screw connection.
With a standard width of 575 mm that can be extended out to a generous 870 mm, the 12338 provides ample space for full scores, multiple pages and accessories such as pencils or a baton. The 360 mm height gives you a deep, comfortable reading area, helping to keep even large-format parts clearly visible. Built to K&M’s exacting standards, it is a dependable choice for conductors who demand a tidy, organised and reliable workstation on the podium.
Whether you are upgrading an existing K&M conductor stand or configuring a dedicated desk for a specific performance space, the 12338 delivers a practical, long-lasting solution. The wooden construction offers a pleasing, natural feel while remaining tough enough for daily professional use, rehearsal after rehearsal and performance after performance.
Expandable Width for Large Scores
The standout feature of the K&M 12338 is its extendable width. Starting at 575 mm and expanding up to 870 mm, it comfortably accommodates wide scores, multi-page layouts and complex arrangements. This extra space reduces the need for constant page turns and allows you to keep more of the music in view, making rehearsals smoother and performances more controlled.
Durable Laminated Beech Wood Construction
Constructed from multi-ply laminated beech wood, the desk combines strength with a refined appearance. The layered build enhances durability and resistance to warping, so the surface stays flat and reliable over time. The black finish keeps the look professional and discreet, ideal for use in orchestras, ensembles and educational settings.
Designed for K&M 12330 and 12331 Stands
This desk is purpose-built to work with K&M’s 12330 and 12331 orchestra conductor stands. The dedicated screw connection ensures a secure, play-free fit between stand and desk, giving you the confidence to load it with heavy scores without wobble or movement. It is an ideal way to expand or refresh an existing K&M conductor setup.
Generous Depth and Practical Dimensions
With music desk dimensions of 575 x 360 mm and a fixed height of 360 mm, the 12338 offers a deep, comfortable reading surface. There is plenty of room for full-size scores, folders and accessories, helping you keep everything organised and within easy reach. At 3.95 kg, it feels reassuringly solid while remaining manageable to handle during setup and breakdown.
Features
- Expandable Width up to 870 mm - The desk extends from 575 mm to 870 mm, giving you the flexibility to spread out large scores and multiple pages. This helps minimise page turns and keeps more of the music visible at once, supporting clearer, more confident conducting.
- Multi-Ply Laminated Beech Wood - The laminated beech construction provides a strong, stable surface that resists warping and everyday wear. It delivers a premium feel under the hand and a smart, professional look on stage or in the rehearsal room.
- Dedicated Screw Connection - A secure screw connection between the desk and compatible stands ensures a firm, rattle-free setup. This stability is crucial when working with heavy scores, allowing you to focus entirely on the music.
- Optimised for K&M 12330 and 12331 Stands - Specifically designed to fit K&M’s 12330 and 12331 orchestra conductor stands, the 12338 is an ideal upgrade or replacement desk. The matched components create a cohesive, reliable conductor station for professional and educational environments.
