Kala James Hill Signature All Solid Mahogany Electro Acoustic Concert Ukulele

Developed with renowned ukulele virtuoso and educator James Hill, the Kala James Hill Signature All Solid Mahogany Electro Acoustic Concert Ukulele is purpose built for serious students and dedicated teachers. With its all solid mahogany construction, active electronics and thoughtful playability tweaks, it is an inspiring step up from an entry level instrument and a reliable partner for lessons, practice, ensemble work and performance.

The solid mahogany top, back and sides deliver a noticeably fuller, richer voice than typical laminate classroom ukes, helping developing players hear nuance and dynamics as they progress. A comfortable concert scale, smooth neck profile and neatly pocketed frets make it easier to move around the fingerboard cleanly, encouraging good technique right from the start. Plug in via the onboard UK-300TR active EQ and built in tuner and you have a ready made solution for school concerts, assemblies and amplified rehearsals.

Strung with D’Addario Clear Nylon strings and supplied with a bonus wound Low G, this signature model also opens the door to more advanced repertoire and extended range arrangements. Whether you are leading a classroom ensemble, preparing for graded exams or supporting an ambitious young player, the James Hill Signature Concert offers professional level tone and control in a practical, education focused package.

All Solid Mahogany Construction

Unlike many student instruments, this concert ukulele uses solid mahogany for the top, back and sides. Solid wood responds more freely to your playing, producing a warmer, more resonant tone that continues to open up over time. That extra richness helps learners hear the difference between light and heavy strumming, fingerpicking and dynamics, making practice more rewarding and musical.

Designed with James Hill for Education

Created in collaboration with James Hill, a leading ukulele performer and teacher, this model is tailored to real classroom and lesson needs. The comfortable neck, clear intonation and tidy fretwork support accurate playing, while the concert size balances a compact feel with enough fretboard space for advancing techniques. It is an instrument that encourages confident progress rather than holding students back.

Built In Active EQ and Tuner

The UK 300TR active preamp gives you simple, reliable control when you plug in. Shape your sound to suit different rooms with the onboard EQ and stay perfectly in tune using the integrated tuner, without needing extra gadgets. For teachers running ensembles or students performing at school events, it makes setting up and sounding good fast and stress free.

Expanded Range with Bonus Low G

Factory fitted D’Addario Clear Nylon strings provide a familiar, comfortable feel and a clear, singing tone. The included wound Low G string lets players switch from traditional re entrant tuning to low G tuning, unlocking a wider range of notes and new chord voicings. It is an easy way for progressing players to explore more sophisticated arrangements and broaden their musical vocabulary.
