Product Description
The Ibanez UKC100-OPN is a concert-size ukulele designed to be comfortable, great sounding and ready to travel. With a laminated Sapele body, smooth Okoume neck and Purpleheart fingerboard, it delivers a warm, balanced tone that is easy to play whether you are a complete beginner or stepping up from your first uke. Finished in a natural open-pore matte, it looks as organic as it feels, and it comes complete with a gig bag so you can take it straight to lessons, rehearsals or the beach.
A clever multi-soundhole design on the upper rib helps project sound towards you as you play, making it easier to hear yourself and enjoy the nuances of your strumming and fingerpicking. Open-gear chrome tuners keep things stable and precise, while the concert-scale 380 mm neck offers a little more room and fullness of sound than a soprano without feeling bulky. If you are looking for a reliable, great-value ukulele that encourages you to pick it up and play every day, the UKC100-OPN is a superb choice.
Comfortable Concert-Size Body
The concert-size body of the UKC100-OPN strikes a sweet spot between compact feel and fuller tone. The slightly larger dimensions and 380 mm scale length give your fretting hand more room, making chord shapes less cramped and helping beginners develop good technique. At the same time, the body is still small and lightweight enough to feel instantly approachable and easy to hold for players of all ages.
Warm, Balanced Sapele Tone
Laminated Sapele is used for the top, back and sides, giving this ukulele a warm, balanced voice that works beautifully for strumming, simple chord songs and melodic picking. Sapele responds well across the frequency range, so chords sound clear and musical without any one register overpowering the others. The laminated construction also offers solid durability, ideal for an instrument that is likely to see plenty of travel and regular use.
Player-Focused Neck and Fingerboard
An Okoume neck paired with a Purpleheart fingerboard provides a smooth, comfortable playing surface. The neck profile is designed to feel natural in the hand, helping you move up and down the fretboard with confidence. Purpleheart is a dense, stable wood that feels slick under the fingers, supporting clean fretting and making it easier to achieve buzz-free chords and notes as you progress.
Practical Details and Included Gig Bag
Open-gear chrome tuners offer reliable, precise tuning adjustment, so you can quickly get in tune and stay there. The matte Open Pore Natural finish lets the wood breathe visually and physically, showcasing the grain while keeping reflections to a minimum. With a gig bag included, you can store and transport the UKC100-OPN safely between home, lessons and sessions, making it a practical all-in-one package for new and developing players alike.
Features
- Laminated Sapele Body - The Sapele top, back and sides provide a warm, balanced tone that flatters both strumming and fingerstyle. Laminated construction adds durability, making the instrument more resistant to changes in temperature and humidity.
- Concert-Size with 380 mm Scale - The concert body and 380 mm scale length offer extra projection and fullness compared to a soprano, while giving your fretting hand more space. This makes chords more comfortable and helps beginners progress more quickly.
- Okoume Neck with Purpleheart Fingerboard and Bridge - The Okoume neck feels light and comfortable, while the Purpleheart fingerboard and bridge provide a smooth playing surface and stable platform for the strings. Together they support clean fretting and consistent tone.
- Open Pore Natural Finish with Gig Bag Included - The Open Pore Polyurethane finish highlights the natural wood grain and gives a tactile, organic feel. The included gig bag makes it easy to carry and protect your ukulele between home, lessons and rehearsals.
