As the pretty face and lead guitarist of the genre-melding instrumental band Polyphia, Tim Henson has made us want to put down our guitars at some point or another. Instead, you’ll be wanting to pick up his signature nylon string Ibanez TOD100, kitted out with higher quality woods, an all-new sleek finish and rosewood binding, a top-of-body sound hole, and an upgraded Fishman Acoustic Matrix pickup and Aura preamp.

Reworked and refined, this is the best version of the virtuoso’s acoustic guitar yet.

Quality acoustic tonewoods

As the luxury option in the Henson signature range, the TOD100 benefits from a solid okoume, which provides improved sustain, volume and resonance over a laminate wood. The okoume body has a mahogany-like tone, which possesses warm and full characteristics. The nyatoh neck is another wood akin to mahogany so you can expect greater presence and oomph than the previous iteration of the Henson signature.

The addition of the top sound hole allows air to escape and vibrations to travel more freely around the body, resulting in an enhanced, richer tone.

Virtuoso feel

Tim Henson needs a guitar than keep up with his lightning quick fingers. The TOD100 does that with a stickiness-free satin finish neck, very flat ebony fretboard measuring in at a 15.75-inch radius and a thin 46mm nut width – ideal for jumping from string to string with ease. The jaw dropping “Tree of Life” inlay is the cherry on top.

Industry standard Fishman pickup and preamp

Playing through an amp or PA has never sounded better thanks to the Fishman Acoustic Matrix pickup and Aura preamp to help shape natural, dynamic and warm tones with helpful body and image blend controls. The onboard phase switch also helps you avoid annoying rumbling sounds.
