Product Description
The Ibanez TMB405TA-CBS Talman 5-string bass blends retro-inspired styling with modern playability and punchy, versatile tone. With its roasted Maple neck, bound Rosewood fretboard and striking Tamo Ash top finished in Cosmic Blue Starburst, this bass looks as good as it sounds. A Dynamix PJ pickup set and Ibanez Custom 2-band EQ give you everything from vintage thump to bright, articulate cut, making it a superb choice for players who need one bass to cover a wide range of styles.
Under the eye-catching finish lies a practical, gig-ready workhorse. The comfortable Talman body shape, solid B15W bridge with 18 mm string spacing and stable 5-string layout make this bass ideal for modern players who need extended low end without sacrificing feel or clarity. Whether you are holding down classic soul lines, modern pop grooves or heavier rock riffs, the TMB405TA-CBS delivers reliable performance night after night.
Classic Talman Style with Modern Comfort
The Talman body shape offers a cool, offset look while remaining comfortable whether you play seated or standing. Its Poplar body keeps the weight manageable, so longer rehearsals and gigs are less tiring, while the contoured shape sits naturally against the body for an easy, relaxed playing position.
Roasted Maple Neck and Bound Rosewood Fretboard
The roasted Maple neck provides improved stability and a touch of extra brightness, ideal for keeping your low B string tight and defined. Paired with a bound Rosewood fretboard and acrylic block inlays, you get a smooth, familiar feel under the fingers with a classy, vintage-inspired aesthetic that stands out on stage.
Versatile Dynamix PJ Pickups and Active EQ
A Dynamix P pickup in the neck position and a Dynamix J pickup at the bridge give you a huge tonal palette, from warm, rounded lows to snappy, articulate mids and highs. The Ibanez Custom 2-band EQ lets you quickly shape bass and treble to suit any mix, so you can adapt your sound to different genres and venues with ease.
Solid Hardware and Confident Tuning Stability
The B15W bridge with 18 mm string spacing offers a solid anchor point for the strings, improving sustain and note definition across all five strings. The comfortable spacing makes fingerstyle, pick playing and slap techniques feel natural, while the sturdy hardware and chrome finish provide reliable performance and a clean, modern look.
Features
- Roasted Maple Neck - The roasted Maple neck improves stability and resists changes in temperature and humidity, helping your setup stay consistent. It also adds a touch of extra brightness and snap, keeping your low notes clear and defined.
- Dynamix PJ Pickup Configuration - With a P-style pickup at the neck and a J-style pickup at the bridge, you can dial in everything from classic, punchy rock tones to tight, articulate funk sounds. Blend the two for a balanced voice that sits perfectly in a band mix.
- Ibanez Custom 2-band EQ - The active 2-band EQ lets you boost or cut bass and treble to fine-tune your tone for any situation. Quickly add low-end weight, tame harshness or bring out extra clarity without needing external pedals or outboard gear.
- Cosmic Blue Starburst with Tamo Ash Top - The Tamo Ash top finished in Cosmic Blue Starburst gives this bass a distinctive, stage-ready look. The combination of figured wood and vibrant finish ensures your instrument stands out visually while the Poplar body keeps the overall tone balanced and musical.
