Product Description
The Ibanez TMB400TA Talman bass delivers classic looks, modern playability and gig-ready versatility in one seriously cool package. Finished in Iced Americano Burst with a figured tamo ash top, it pairs a comfortable offset body with a roasted maple neck, rosewood fretboard and Dynamix PJ pickups, giving you everything from punchy rock tones to rounded vintage thump at the turn of a knob.
With its active 2-band EQ, solid B10 bridge and balanced weight distribution, this Talman is built to feel great on long rehearsals and live sets alike. Whether you are laying down tight pop lines, old-school soul grooves or gritty indie bass, the TMB400TA keeps things simple, musical and reliable so you can focus on the performance.
Comfortable Talman Body
The distinctive Talman body shape offers a familiar offset feel with a slightly compact footprint, helping the bass sit comfortably against your body whether you are standing or seated. Its balanced weight distribution reduces shoulder fatigue over long sessions, making it a great choice for regular gigging, rehearsals and studio work.
Roasted Maple Neck and Rosewood Fretboard
The roasted maple neck is heat-treated for enhanced stability and durability, helping it stay more resistant to changes in temperature and humidity. Paired with a rosewood fretboard, you get a smooth, inviting playing surface with a warm, focused tonal response that supports everything from mellow fingerstyle to articulate pick playing.
Dynamix PJ Pickups with Active 2-Band EQ
A Dynamix P pickup in the neck position and a Dynamix J at the bridge give you a classic PJ configuration, covering punchy, mid-forward tones as well as tighter, more defined sounds. The Ibanez Custom Electronics 2-band EQ lets you quickly boost or cut bass and treble, so you can tailor your sound to the room, the band and the song with minimal fuss.
Rock-Solid Hardware
The B10 bridge provides a stable anchor point for the strings, supporting reliable intonation and tuning stability. Combined with chrome hardware and a gloss polyurethane finish, the TMB400TA is built to handle regular use while keeping your setup feeling consistent and responsive.
Features
- Figured Tamo Ash Top in Iced Americano Burst - The striking Iced Americano Burst finish over a figured tamo ash top gives this Talman a premium, boutique-inspired look. It stands out on stage and in the studio while still retaining the cool, retro character the Talman series is known for.
- Comfortable, Balanced Talman Design - The Talman body shape offers excellent ergonomics with balanced weight distribution, helping to reduce strain during long sets. Its offset contours sit naturally against the player, making it easy to maintain a relaxed, confident playing posture.
- Roasted Maple Neck with Rosewood Fretboard - A roasted maple neck improves stability and resistance to warping, giving you a neck that feels consistent over time. The rosewood fretboard adds a warm, focused tonal character and a smooth feel under the fingers, ideal for both fast runs and laid-back grooves.
- Dynamix PJ Pickups and 2-Band Active EQ - The Dynamix P and J pickups provide a wide palette of classic bass tones, from fat, punchy lows to articulate, cutting highs. With the Ibanez Custom Electronics 2-band EQ, you can quickly sculpt your sound to suit different genres and playing styles, making this bass highly adaptable for varied musical situations.
