Product Description
The Ibanez SRH505F-NNF SR Aerium is a lightweight, semi hollow 5 string fretless bass designed to deliver expressive, upright inspired tones with modern playability. Combining a resonant spruce and okoume body with a smooth, unlined Panga Panga fingerboard and an AeroSilk piezo system, it offers a rich, acoustic flavoured voice that is perfect for jazz, fusion, world music and any player seeking a more organic, vocal bass sound.
With its 5 piece Jatoba and walnut neck, active piezo tone shaping and custom AeroSilk bridge, the SRH505F-NNF balances nuance and clarity, letting every slide, vibrato and dynamic touch come through. Finished in a tasteful Natural Brown Burst Flat, it looks as sophisticated as it sounds, while the familiar SR ergonomics keep it comfortable for long sessions on stage or in the studio.
Semi Hollow SR Aerium Design
The SRH505F-NNF features a semi hollow body construction that enhances acoustic resonance and airiness compared to a traditional solid body bass. This design gives your sound a more open, woody character with a natural low end bloom and detailed midrange, ideal for players who want the feel and response of an acoustic or upright style instrument in a sleek, modern SR chassis.
Expressive Fretless Panga Panga Fingerboard
A bound Panga Panga fretless fingerboard provides a smooth, glassy surface that encourages slides, vibrato and microtonal phrasing. The absence of frets allows for seamless, vocal like lines, while the off set white dot inlays help you stay oriented without cluttering the clean aesthetic. For players stepping into fretless for the first time, the familiar SR feel makes the transition more intuitive.
AeroSilk Piezo System
At the heart of the SRH505F-NNF is the AeroSilk piezo pickup and active tone control, designed to capture the nuances of the semi hollow body and fretless board. The custom bridge integrates individual piezo elements that respond to your touch, delivering a detailed, upright inspired sound with plenty of dynamic range. The active tone control lets you fine tune brightness and warmth, from percussive, articulate lines to soft, rounded thump.
Comfortable 5 String Performance
The 5 piece Jatoba and walnut neck offers strength, stability and a fast response, ideal for modern techniques and extended range playing. With a full 864 mm scale and ergonomic SR contouring, the low B remains tight and defined while the overall instrument stays light and well balanced. Whether you are holding down subtle grooves or exploring melodic solos, the SRH505F-NNF stays comfortable and responsive under the hands.
Features
- Semi Hollow Spruce and Okoume Body - The spruce top and okoume back and sides combine to create a resonant, semi hollow platform with a warm, open acoustic character. This construction adds depth and air to your tone, making it ideal for more organic, expressive styles of bass playing.
- Fretless Bound Panga Panga Fingerboard - The smooth Panga Panga fingerboard allows for fluid slides and singing vibrato, giving your lines a vocal quality that fretted instruments cannot match. Binding adds a refined look and a comfortable edge under the hand, while off set white dots keep position shifts precise.
- AeroSilk Piezo Pickup with Active Tone - The AeroSilk piezo system captures the nuances of your right hand technique and the resonance of the body, delivering an upright inspired voice with excellent clarity. The active tone control lets you sculpt your sound on the instrument, from bright and percussive to mellow and rounded.
- 5 Piece Jatoba and Walnut Neck - A multi piece Jatoba and walnut neck provides strength and stability, helping the bass stay consistent across different environments. The fast, slim profile and extended 5 string range make it suitable for modern players who need both comfort and reliable performance.
