Product Description
The Ibanez SR280E-BMU is a sleek, modern 4 string bass that combines effortless playability with a punchy, versatile sound. Finished in a striking Baltic Blue Metallic Burst with a high-gloss sheen, it is built for players who want a comfortable, lightweight instrument that can handle anything from tight funk grooves to driving rock lines.
At the heart of the SR280E-BMU is Ibanez’s renowned SR design philosophy: a slim, fast neck, a contoured lightweight body and electronics that give you plenty of tonal control without getting in the way. Dynamix humbucking pickups deliver a clear, balanced voice, while the onboard Phat II EQ lets you dial in extra low-end weight whenever you need it. Whether you are rehearsing, recording or gigging, this bass stays comfortable on the shoulder and responsive under the fingers.
The nyatoh body keeps the overall weight down while still providing a warm, full-bodied tone that sits nicely in the mix. A smooth maple neck paired with a 24 fret fingerboard gives you full access across the entire 864 mm scale, making fast runs, slides and position shifts feel natural and controlled. With reliable hardware and a robust gloss polyurethane finish, the SR280E-BMU is ready for regular use on stage or in the studio.
Fast, Comfortable SR Neck
The slim maple neck is designed for speed and comfort, letting you move quickly up and down the fingerboard with minimal effort. Whether you favour intricate fingerstyle lines or pick-driven riffs, the neck profile and smooth finish help reduce fatigue so you can play longer and more accurately.
Lightweight Nyatoh Body
The contoured nyatoh body keeps the bass light without sacrificing tone, making it ideal for long rehearsals and extended sets. Its ergonomic shape hugs the body, so you can maintain a relaxed playing posture whether you are standing or sitting.
Dynamix Humbucking Pickups
Dual Dynamix H pickups provide a strong, even output with plenty of clarity across the frequency range. From rounded, supportive lows to articulate mids and defined highs, these pickups give you a flexible core sound that works across multiple genres.
Phat II EQ for Extra Low-End Punch
The Ibanez Phat II EQ adds an active bass boost on top of the passive pickup circuit, giving you instant access to thicker, more powerful low frequencies. It is perfect for when you need your lines to hit harder in the mix, all controlled via a simple, intuitive layout.
Features
- Slim Maple SR Neck - The fast, slim maple neck makes complex lines and quick position shifts feel effortless, helping you play more cleanly and confidently across all 24 frets.
- Lightweight Nyatoh Body - A comfortable, contoured nyatoh body keeps the overall weight down, reducing shoulder strain and making the bass easy to handle during long playing sessions.
- Dynamix H Pickups - Dual Dynamix humbuckers deliver a balanced, versatile tone that suits everything from smooth R&B to punchy rock, giving you a reliable sound foundation for any style.
- Phat II EQ with 9V Power - The Phat II EQ, powered by a single 9V battery, lets you add focused low-end boost on demand, so you can cut through dense mixes or reinforce the groove with extra depth.
