Product Description
The Ibanez RG9PB-TGF takes the iconic RG formula into extended-range territory, giving you nine strings of crushing low-end power and razor-sharp clarity. With its 712 mm scale length, ultra-fast Wizard-9 neck and a pair of Fishman Fluence Modern pickups, this is a purpose-built machine for modern metal, djent and progressive players who demand tight, defined lows and articulate high strings in one instrument.
A lightweight okoume body topped with striking poplar burl keeps things comfortable for long sessions, while the Transparent Gray Flat finish and cosmo black hardware deliver a sleek, stage-ready look. Add in the rock-solid Gibraltar Standard II-9 bridge and a smooth Macassar ebony fretboard, and you have a highly focused, performance-driven 9-string that stays stable, plays fast and sounds massive.
Extended 712 mm Scale for Tight Low Tunings
The extended 712 mm scale length is designed to keep your lowest strings clear, punchy and in tune, even with aggressive down-tuning. Increased string tension on the bass side helps prevent flubbiness, so complex riffs, chugs and rapid-fire patterns stay tight and defined in a full band mix.
Wizard-9 Neck and Macassar Ebony Fretboard
The 5-piece maple/walnut Wizard-9 neck is engineered for speed and stability, offering a slim, flat profile that makes wide stretches and technical passages feel effortless across all nine strings. Paired with a Macassar ebony fretboard, you get a fast, responsive feel with rich sustain and a snappy attack that enhances note separation.
Fishman Fluence Modern 9-String Pickups
Loaded with Fishman Fluence Modern humbuckers, the RG9PB-TGF delivers powerful, noise-free performance with multiple active voicings at your fingertips. The Alnico neck and Ceramic bridge combination offers everything from tight, percussive rhythm tones to fluid, singing leads, giving you the versatility to cover modern metal, ambient cleans and everything in between.
Gibraltar Standard II-9 Bridge and Graph Tech Nut
The Gibraltar Standard II-9 bridge anchors the strings firmly to the body for enhanced sustain and rock-solid tuning stability across the entire range. Combined with a Graph Tech nut and cosmo black hardware, the hardware package is built to handle the extra tension of nine strings while keeping intonation and feel consistent.
Features
- 712 mm Extended Scale Length - The long 712 mm scale keeps the lowest strings tight and controlled, even in extreme tunings. This helps your low notes stay clear and punchy, making complex riffs and fast picking patterns sound precise rather than muddy.
- Wizard-9 5-Piece Maple/Walnut Neck - The ultra-thin Wizard-9 profile offers exceptional playability across all nine strings, ideal for technical players and extended chord shapes. The 5-piece maple/walnut construction adds strength and stability, helping the neck resist warping over time.
- Fishman Fluence Modern 9-String Pickups - Active Fluence Modern pickups provide high output, clarity and multiple voicings, so you can move from tight, aggressive rhythm tones to smooth, articulate leads with ease. Their low noise floor and consistent response make them perfect for high-gain, high-precision playing.
- Poplar Burl Top in Transparent Gray Flat - The poplar burl top under the Transparent Gray Flat finish gives the guitar a distinctive, high-end aesthetic without sacrificing comfort. Combined with the okoume body and cosmo black hardware, it creates a modern, stealthy look that suits contemporary metal and progressive styles.
