Product Description
The Ibanez RG8-WH is a purpose-built 8-string electric guitar that brings extended range performance into an accessible price bracket. With its long 686 mm scale length, fast Wizard II-8 neck and tight-sounding IBZ-8 humbuckers, it is designed to keep your lowest tunings clear and controlled while still feeling familiar under the fingers. Finished in sleek White with black hardware, it is a striking workhorse for modern metal, djent, prog and experimental players looking to explore new sonic territory.
At the heart of the RG8-WH is a 5-piece maple and walnut Wizard II-8 neck that is slim, stable and built for speed. Paired with a comfortable Jatoba fretboard and jumbo frets, it makes complex chords, wide stretches and rapid-fire runs feel natural across all eight strings. The extended 686 mm scale ensures your low F sharp or even lower tunings retain definition, helping you avoid the flabby feel and muddy tone that can plague shorter-scale instruments.
The meranti body provides a balanced tonal platform that works well with high-gain rigs, giving you a solid midrange presence with enough low-end punch and top-end clarity to cut through a mix. IBZ-8 passive ceramic humbuckers are voiced specifically for 8-string use, delivering tight, focused lows and articulate highs that respond well to palm-muted riffs, complex chord voicings and singing lead lines alike.
A fixed F108 bridge anchors the strings securely and offers precise individual height adjustment, so you can dial in a comfortable action that suits your playing style. The durable mono-unit output jack is designed to withstand regular plugging and unplugging, making the RG8-WH a reliable partner for rehearsals, gigs and recording sessions. If you are ready to step into the world of extended range guitars, this is a solid, no-nonsense platform that lets your ideas take centre stage.
Extended Range Clarity
The combination of an 8-string layout and a 686 mm scale length gives you access to ultra-low tunings while keeping the strings tight and responsive. This helps your riffs stay punchy and defined, even when you are tuning down for modern metal or ambient soundscapes.
Fast and Stable Wizard II-8 Neck
The 5-piece maple and walnut Wizard II-8 neck is slim and comfortable, encouraging fast, technical playing across all eight strings. Its multi-piece construction enhances stability, helping the guitar hold its setup and tuning more consistently.
IBZ-8 Passive Ceramic Pickups
IBZ-8 humbuckers are voiced to handle the extended frequency range of an 8-string guitar. Their passive ceramic design delivers tight low-end, clear mids and cutting highs, making them ideal for saturated high-gain tones as well as articulate cleans.
Reliable Fixed Bridge and Hardware
The F108 fixed bridge provides solid tuning stability and straightforward setup, with individually adjustable saddles for accurate string height. Paired with a robust mono-unit output jack and black hardware, the RG8-WH is built to handle regular use with minimal fuss.
