Product Description
The Ibanez Limited Edition Genesis Collection RG565R-PN in Purple Neon is a no-nonsense shred machine that channels the look, feel and attitude of the original late-80s RG models. Built in Japan with the iconic Super Wizard neck, a pair of high-output humbuckers and the legendary Edge tremolo, it is purpose-built for fast, precise playing and rock-solid tuning stability under the heaviest whammy bar abuse.
Part of the Genesis Collection, the RG565R-PN stays true to the classic RG recipe while benefitting from modern Japanese craftsmanship and consistency. The lightweight Basswood body, slick satin-finished neck and jumbo frets make it effortless to play, while the Purple Neon finish and sharktooth inlays ensure it looks every bit as wild as it sounds. Whether you are ripping lead lines, tight rhythm parts or intricate techniques, this guitar is designed to keep up with you.
Genesis Collection Heritage
The Genesis Collection pays tribute to the original Ibanez RG models that helped define modern rock and metal guitar. With period-correct styling, classic body contours and that unmistakable RG silhouette, the RG565R-PN captures the spirit of the late 80s while delivering the precision and reliability of contemporary Japanese production. It is ideal if you want vintage-inspired vibe without sacrificing playability or stability.
Super Wizard Neck for Extreme Speed
The Super Wizard 5-piece Maple/Walnut neck is one of Ibanez’s fastest neck profiles, engineered for players who demand effortless speed and control. Its ultra-slim carve, satin polyurethane finish and 24 jumbo frets on a Rosewood fretboard make complex runs, wide stretches and advanced techniques feel natural and comfortable. The bolt-on construction also gives you a snappy, immediate response that cuts through a mix.
Infinity R and V8 Pickups
A matched set of Ibanez Infinity R (neck) and V8 (bridge) humbuckers delivers a tight, articulate voice with plenty of output. Designed to retain clarity even under high-gain settings, they offer punchy rhythm tones, singing leads and surprisingly usable cleans. The 5-way lever switch unlocks multiple tonal options, making it easy to move from chunky riffing to expressive solos without changing guitars.
Edge Tremolo and Gotoh Hardware
The original Edge tremolo bridge is a cornerstone of the RG legacy, renowned for its tuning stability, smooth feel and precise intonation adjustment. Paired with a locking nut and Gotoh machine heads, it lets you divebomb, flutter and bend chords aggressively while keeping your tuning in check. The comfortable bridge profile also makes palm muting and right-hand techniques feel controlled and consistent.
Features
- Super Wizard 5-Piece Maple/Walnut Neck - The ultra-slim Super Wizard profile and 5-piece Maple/Walnut construction provide exceptional stability and a fast, fluid feel. This makes demanding techniques, rapid runs and complex chord shapes easier to execute with less fatigue.
- Infinity R and V8 Humbucking Pickups - The Infinity R neck and V8 bridge humbuckers deliver a tight, focused sound with strong output and excellent note definition. They stay clear under heavy distortion, giving you aggressive rhythm tones and cutting leads without muddiness.
- Edge Tremolo with Locking Nut - The Edge tremolo system offers smooth, responsive whammy action and reliable tuning stability. Combined with the locking nut, it allows extreme pitch bends and vibrato effects while keeping your tuning consistent throughout a set.
- Basswood Body with Rosewood Fretboard - The Basswood body provides a balanced, neutral tonal platform that works well with high-gain sounds, while the Rosewood fretboard adds warmth and a focused midrange. Together they create a versatile voice suited to modern rock, metal and beyond.
