Product Description
The Ibanez IV2RG Custom Shop Visions Electric Guitar is a jaw-dropping, limited edition take on the iconic RG platform, crafted by the Ibanez Custom Shop for players who demand the absolute pinnacle in playability, tone and aesthetics. With its striking purple/green/purple custom colour-burst finish, premium tonewoods and a DiMarzio HSH pickup set, this is a high-performance instrument built to excel on stage and in the studio.
Centred around a razor-thin Super Wizard 5-piece maple/purpleheart neck and an ebony fretboard with Custom Shop fret edge treatment, the IV2RG offers an ultra-fast, silky playing feel that invites fluid legato, rapid alternate picking and wide, controlled bends. A burl maple top over a black limba body delivers a lively, harmonically rich acoustic voice, while the Lo-Pro Edge tremolo and locking nut keep things rock solid even under the most extreme whammy bar abuse.
Loaded with DiMarzio Air Norton, True Velvet and The Tone Zone pickups, this Visions RG covers everything from glassy cleans and articulate single-coil chime to saturated, singing lead tones and tight, percussive rhythm sounds. Gotoh tuners, strap lock pins and Luminlay side dots round out a professional hardware package that is ready for the brightest stages and most demanding sessions.
If you are looking for a Custom Shop Ibanez that blends outrageous looks with meticulous craftsmanship and no-compromise performance, the IV2RG Visions RG is a serious contender.
Custom Shop Visions Aesthetic
The IV2RG belongs to the Ibanez Custom Shop VISIONS series, showcasing unique, artistically driven designs that stand out from the crowd. Its purple/green/purple colour-burst finish over a figured burl maple top creates a dramatic, three-dimensional effect under stage lights, ensuring your guitar looks every bit as bold as it sounds. This is an instrument that makes a statement before you even play a note.
Super Wizard Neck and Ebony Fretboard
Ibanez’s Super Wizard 5-piece maple/purpleheart neck is renowned for its ultra-slim profile and exceptional stability. Paired with an ebony fretboard and Custom Shop fret edge treatment, it offers a glassy, friction-free feel that makes fast runs, complex chords and extended techniques feel effortless. Jumbo stainless steel frets add durability and crisp note definition, so your bends and vibrato stay precise gig after gig.
Premium Tonewoods and Resonant Body
A burl maple top combined with a black limba body gives the IV2RG a powerful yet nuanced tonal foundation. Black limba is known for its warm, open midrange and lively response, while the maple adds snap and clarity to your attack. The result is a responsive, resonant guitar that translates every detail of your playing, whether you are dialling in tight, modern high gain or shimmering, dynamic cleans.
Versatile DiMarzio HSH Electronics
The DiMarzio Air Norton neck humbucker, True Velvet single-coil middle and The Tone Zone bridge humbucker provide a hugely versatile palette of sounds. From smooth, vocal neck tones and sparkling in-between positions to aggressive, high-output bridge crunch, the IV2RG is ready for progressive metal, fusion, rock and beyond. Passive electronics keep the response organic and dynamic, reacting naturally to your picking and volume control.
