Product Description
The Ibanez Wes Hauch Signature ICWH727 is a razor-focused 7 string designed in collaboration with one of modern metal’s most precise and expressive players. Built to deliver crushing low end, articulate high gain clarity and effortless playability, it is a no-nonsense instrument for serious riff writers and lead players who demand tight response and rock solid tuning stability.
Every detail of the ICWH727 has been dialled in with Wes’s stage and studio experience in mind. From the slim, fast neck profile and extended 27 inch scale to the carefully voiced pickups and rock steady hardware, this guitar is engineered to keep up with complex down tuned parts and fluid solos without fighting back. If you live in low tunings, need immaculate note separation and want a guitar that feels instantly familiar under the fingers, this signature model is built to do the heavy lifting.
Despite its metal credentials, the ICWH727 is more than just a blunt tool for high gain. Its construction and electronics provide a wide dynamic range and impressive clarity, making it equally at home handling clean passages, ambient textures and intricate chord voicings. The result is a versatile, professional level 7 string that rewards a refined touch as much as it does aggressive picking.
Whether you are chasing Wes Hauch inspired tones or simply want a purpose built extended range guitar that stays tight, clear and comfortable under the most demanding conditions, the Ibanez ICWH727 delivers a focused, modern playing experience that lets your technique and ideas take centre stage.
Wes Hauch Approved Design
Developed closely with Wes Hauch, the ICWH727 reflects the needs of a modern metal guitarist who spends serious time on the road and in the studio. The neck profile, fretwork and hardware choices are all geared towards stability and comfort, so you can concentrate on your playing rather than fighting the instrument.
Extended Range Clarity
The 7 string layout and extended scale length are optimised for low tunings, helping the lower strings stay tight and defined even under heavy distortion. This gives you the confidence to explore complex riffs and wide interval chords without losing note separation or punch.
Fast, Comfortable Playability
A sleek neck carve, modern fingerboard radius and carefully finished frets combine to create a fast, low friction playing surface. Whether you are executing rapid alternate picking, wide bends or legato runs, the ICWH727 feels smooth and responsive across the entire range.
Purpose Built for High Gain
The electronics and construction are voiced to excel with saturated tones, delivering a focused midrange, tight bass and controlled highs. This makes it easier to sit in a dense mix, cut through with leads and maintain definition at the extreme gain levels favoured in contemporary metal.
Features
- Artist Developed 7 String Platform - Created in partnership with Wes Hauch, this guitar is tailored to the realities of modern metal performance. The layout, feel and response are all informed by a working artist’s demands, giving you a reliable tool that is ready for stage and studio work.
- Extended Scale for Tight Low Tunings - The longer scale length helps maintain string tension on the lower strings, keeping your tone focused and preventing flabbiness when tuning down. This translates into tighter palm mutes, clearer chugs and more accurate intonation across the fretboard.
- High Performance Neck and Fretwork - A slim, ergonomic neck profile and precisely finished frets make fast passages and complex chord shapes feel natural. The comfortable feel reduces fatigue during long sessions and encourages cleaner, more controlled technique.
- Modern Metal Voiced Electronics - The pickup configuration is tuned for articulate, high output performance, delivering aggressive rhythm tones and singing leads while retaining clarity. This allows you to move from tight riffs to expressive solos without losing definition or impact.
