Product Description
The Ibanez GSR205B-WK is a 5-string bass from the popular GIO series, designed to put genuine Ibanez feel and tone within easy reach of any player. With its slim, fast neck, lightweight poplar body and powerful Dynamix H pickups teamed with a Phat II active EQ, it delivers a punchy, modern sound that is perfect for rock, metal, pop and beyond. Finished in a sleek Weathered Black, it looks as sharp on stage as it feels in your hands.
Whether you are stepping up to your first 5-string or need an affordable workhorse for rehearsals and gigs, the GSR205B-WK offers impressive playability and tonal flexibility. The extended low range lets you dig into heavy riffs and deep grooves, while the active EQ helps you shape a tight, focused bass sound that cuts through any mix. Comfortable, reliable and great value, it is a brilliant introduction to the SR-style bass experience.
Slim, Comfortable GSR Neck
The GSR maple neck is carved to be slim and fast, making it easy to navigate all five strings without fatigue. If you are coming from guitar or a 4-string bass, the comfortable profile and smooth Jatoba fretboard help make the transition feel natural, so you can focus on your playing rather than fighting the instrument.
Lightweight Poplar Body
The poplar body keeps overall weight down while providing a balanced, even tone that works well with a wide range of musical styles. It is ideal for long rehearsals or gigs where comfort matters, and its ergonomic SR-inspired shape sits nicely against the body whether you play seated or standing.
Dynamix H Pickups with Phat II Active EQ
Dual Ibanez Dynamix H pickups deliver a punchy, articulate sound with plenty of low-end presence and mid-range definition. Paired with the Phat II active EQ, you can dial in extra bass on demand for thicker grooves or back it off for a tighter, more controlled tone, giving you a versatile sound palette from a simple control layout.
Modern Weathered Black Aesthetic
The Weathered Black finish gives the GSR205B-WK a contemporary, road-ready look that suits heavier genres as well as more understated stages. Combined with black hardware and clean white dot inlays, it offers a stylish, modern appearance that stands out without being over the top.
