Product Description
The Ibanez GA5MHTCE-WK is a modern, stage-ready classical electro acoustic that blends traditional nylon-string tone with sleek, contemporary playability. With its slim Thinline cutaway body, Weathered Black Open Pore finish and intuitive onboard electronics, it is an ideal choice for steel-string players moving into classical territory, singer-songwriters needing a comfortable live instrument, or anyone wanting nylon warmth in a compact, plug-in-and-play package.
Built around a sapele body with a comfortable okoume neck and purpleheart fretboard, the GA5MHTCE-WK delivers a warm, full voice with clear note definition and a smooth, inviting feel under the fingers. The Ibanez undersaddle pickup and AEQ-2T preamp capture that natural nylon character with ease, while the onboard tuner and simple EQ controls make it effortless to dial in a great sound on stage or in rehearsal.
Comfortable Thinline Classical Design
The Thinline Cutaway Classical body keeps the guitar light and compact, making it far easier to handle than a traditional deep-bodied classical. Whether you are playing long gigs, rehearsing regularly or simply practising at home, the reduced depth and cutaway design help reduce fatigue and give you confident access to higher frets.
Warm, Articulate Sapele Tone
With a sapele top, back and sides, the GA5MHTCE-WK offers a warm, rounded tonal core with a pleasing brightness that helps melodies and arpeggios stand out. This balanced response suits everything from classical repertoire and Latin styles to modern fingerstyle and chord work, giving you a versatile nylon-string voice that sits well both solo and in a mix.
Smooth Okoume Neck and Purpleheart Fretboard
The okoume neck is designed for smooth playability and comfort, helping both classical and steel-string players feel at home quickly. Paired with a purpleheart fretboard, you get a stable, responsive playing surface that adds a touch of rich tonal character and a striking visual contrast against the Weathered Black finish.
Stage-ready Electronics with Onboard Tuner
An Ibanez undersaddle pickup feeds the AEQ-2T preamp, giving you a clear, accurate amplified version of the guitar’s natural nylon-string sound. Simple bass and treble controls let you tailor your tone to different rooms and systems, while the built-in tuner (powered by a single 9V battery) works even when unplugged, keeping you in tune wherever you play.
Features
- Thinline Cutaway Classical Body - A slimmer body depth and cutaway design make the GA5MHTCE-WK exceptionally comfortable to hold and play, particularly for extended sessions or live sets. The cutaway also improves access to upper frets, opening up more melodic and soloing possibilities.
- Sapele Top, Back and Sides - Sapele construction provides a warm, full-bodied tone with a touch of bright definition, ensuring chords sound rich and rounded while single notes remain clear and articulate. This makes the guitar versatile across classical, folk and contemporary styles.
- Okoume Neck with Purpleheart Fretboard and Bridge - The okoume neck offers a comfortable, familiar feel, while the purpleheart fretboard and bridge enhance sustain, resonance and visual appeal. Together they promote reliable vibration transfer and a smooth playing experience for both beginners and experienced players.
- Ibanez Undersaddle Pickup and AEQ-2T Preamp - The undersaddle pickup accurately captures the guitar’s natural nylon-string character, and the AEQ-2T preamp provides simple bass and treble controls plus an onboard tuner. This makes it easy to achieve a consistent, gig-ready sound and stay in tune without extra gear.
