Ibanez BTB806MS-TGF BTB Multi-Scale 6-String Bass Guitar in Transparent Gray Flat

The Ibanez BTB806MS-TGF is a serious 6 string workhorse designed for modern players who demand piano-like clarity, rock solid tuning and effortless playability across an extended range. Its 37 inch to 34.5 inch multi-scale layout delivers tight, focused low strings and a singing top end, while the neck-through construction and premium woods ensure huge sustain and a refined, articulate tone that sits perfectly in any mix.

With a pair of ultra-flexible T1 dual-coil pickups and Ibanez Custom 3 band EQ, this BTB can move seamlessly from transparent, hi-fi cleans to aggressive, mid-forward punch at the flick of a switch. Individual MR5S bridges, a bound Panga Panga fretboard and carefully contoured body wings complete a bass that is built to handle demanding studio sessions and long tours with ease.

Whether you are exploring extended-range chords, intricate tapping lines or low-tuned metal riffs, the BTB806MS-TGF gives you the stability, comfort and tonal control you need to play at your best.

Multi-Scale Precision and Comfort

The 37 inch to 34.5 inch multi-scale layout balances string tension across all six strings, keeping the low B (and beyond) tight and defined while maintaining a familiar feel on the higher strings. The fanned fret design follows the natural angle of your fretting hand, making complex stretches and technical passages feel more ergonomic and reducing fatigue during long sets.

Neck-Through Sustain and Stability

A 5 piece Maple and Walnut neck runs right through the body, maximising sustain and improving note-to-note consistency. Graphite reinforcement rods add extra rigidity, helping the neck stay stable under changing climates and tunings. The result is a bass that feels solid under the fingers, with a fast, confident response wherever you play on the neck.

Premium Woods and Striking Looks

The BTB806MS pairs Okoume and Ash body wings with a Poplar Burl top, creating a blend of warmth, punch and clarity that works brilliantly for modern tones. The Transparent Gray Flat finish highlights the burl figuring without glare, while the bound Panga Panga fretboard and abalone dot inlays add a touch of boutique class to the instrument.

Powerful T1 Pickups and Flexible Electronics

Ibanez T1 dual-coil pickups provide a clear, full-range voice with excellent definition, even on the lowest notes. Adjustable coil height lets you fine-tune the response of each string, while the Ibanez Custom 3 band EQ, mid-frequency switch and passive bypass give you instant access to everything from precise, sculpted active tones to a more organic passive sound, all from the bass itself.

• 37 inch to 34.5 inch Multi-Scale Layout - The extended 37 inch scale on the bass side keeps the lowest strings tight, punchy and in tune, while the shorter 34.5 inch treble side maintains a comfortable feel for chords, solos and melodic work. This balanced tension helps every string speak clearly, even in low tunings.
• Neck-Through 5 Piece Maple/Walnut Neck with Graphite Reinforcement - The multi-piece neck-through design enhances sustain and resonance, giving notes a smooth, even decay across the entire fretboard. Graphite rods add extra stiffness and stability, so your set-up stays consistent and reliable over time.
• T1 Dual-Coil Pickups with Ibanez Custom 3 Band EQ - T1 pickups deliver a powerful yet articulate tone, and their adjustable coil height lets you balance output and sensitivity string by string. Paired with the Ibanez Custom 3 band EQ, mid-frequency switch and passive bypass, you can quickly dial in studio-ready sounds for any genre.
• MR5S Individual Bridges with Adjustable Spacing - Each string has its own MR5S bridge unit, improving intonation, sustain and tuning stability. Adjustable string spacing allows you to fine-tune the feel under your right hand, whether you prefer a tighter layout for fast picking or a wider spread for slap and fingerstyle techniques.
