Ibanez BTB747-NTL BTB 7-String Bass Guitar in Natural Low Gloss

The Ibanez BTB747-NTL is a serious extended-range workhorse for bassists who need massive low-end authority and piano-like clarity across seven strings. With its neck-through construction, premium multi-piece neck, Bartolini BH2 pickups and powerful active 3-band EQ, this BTB delivers huge sustain, tight lows and articulate highs, all wrapped up in a Natural Low Gloss finish that shows off its layered woods.

Designed for modern players who move effortlessly between intricate chord work, fast technical lines and crushing low riffs, the BTB747-NTL combines boutique-level construction with rock-solid reliability. The long 889 mm scale keeps the low strings clear and defined, while the MR5 mono-rail bridge and stainless-steel frets ensure precise intonation and a smooth, consistent feel across the entire fretboard.

Whether you are handling extended-range metal, progressive fusion, gospel or studio work that demands both depth and detail, this bass gives you the tools to sit perfectly in the mix. The Ibanez Custom Electronics preamp offers a wide palette of tones at your fingertips, from tight, focused punch to broad, hi-fi clarity, making the BTB747-NTL a versatile choice for demanding players.

Extended-Range Stability and Playability

The 9-piece Maple/Panga Panga/Walnut neck with graphite reinforcement is built to handle the extra tension of seven strings while remaining stable in changing environments. Its neck-through design not only improves sustain but also gives you effortless access to all 24 frets (plus the zero fret), so complex lines and upper-register chords feel natural and controlled.

Premium Fretboard Feel and Clarity

A Rosewood fretboard with abalone dot inlays provides a warm, focused tonal character that balances the extended low range. Medium stainless-steel frets offer a smooth, fast feel under the fingers and exceptional durability, resisting wear from heavy playing and roundwound strings so your intonation stays accurate over the long term.

Bartolini BH2 Power and Definition

Dual Bartolini BH2 pickups deliver a tight, controlled low end with punchy mids and a smooth top, ideal for cutting through dense mixes without losing body. Paired with the Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ and 3-way mid-frequency switch, you can fine-tune your sound for everything from aggressive, percussive attack to deep, rounded groove tones.

Resonant, Balanced Body Construction

The walnut top with ash/Okoume wings gives the BTB747-NTL a resonant, balanced voice with a mix of warmth, snap and clarity. The MR5 mono-rail bridge isolates each string for maximum definition and sustain, helping every note speak clearly, even in complex chords and fast passages. The Natural Low Gloss satin polyurethane finish lets the wood breathe and feel organic under the hand while showcasing the layered construction.

• 9-Piece Neck-Through Construction - The 9-piece Maple/Panga Panga/Walnut neck with graphite reinforcement runs through the body, enhancing sustain, stability and upper-fret access. This construction keeps the neck rigid under the tension of seven strings, so your action can stay low and consistent.
• Bartolini BH2 Pickups with Active 3-Band EQ - A pair of Bartolini BH2 pickups feed the Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ with a 3-way mid-frequency switch, giving you tight lows, punchy mids and detailed highs. You can quickly sculpt your tone for studio precision or live punch using the onboard controls.
• MR5 Mono-Rail Bridge - The MR5 bridge isolates each string on its own saddle, improving note separation, sustain and tuning stability. This design helps every string ring clearly, making complex voicings and extended-range riffs sound defined and controlled.
• Resonant Body with Natural Low Gloss Finish - A walnut top with ash/Okoume wings provides a balanced tonal foundation with both warmth and articulation. The Natural Low Gloss satin polyurethane finish highlights the grain while offering a smooth, non-sticky feel that is comfortable for long sessions.
