Ibanez BTB1835-NDL Premium BTB 5-String Bass Guitar in Natural Shadow Low Gloss

The Ibanez BTB1835-NDL is a premium 5-string bass designed for players who demand exceptional clarity, extended range and rock-solid stability. With a 9-piece neck-through construction, boutique-grade Aguilar DCB pickups and a highly flexible Ibanez Custom 3-band EQ, this BTB delivers a powerful, articulate voice that excels on stage and in the studio. Finished in a tasteful Natural Shadow Low Gloss, it looks as refined as it feels.

Built around a long 889 mm scale and a multi-piece Maple, Bubinga and Panga Panga neck, the BTB1835 offers tight, piano-like low end and superb note definition across all five strings. Ash body wings with figured Bubinga top and back provide a balanced tonal foundation with plenty of punch and presence, while premium stainless steel frets and smooth fret edge treatment ensure a fast, comfortable playing experience for modern techniques.

At the heart of the BTB1835 are a pair of Aguilar DCB dual-ceramic pickups, renowned for their wide frequency response and impressive dynamic range. These are paired with Ibanez Custom Electronics, giving you a powerful yet musical 3-band EQ, a passive bypass option and a 3-way mid-frequency switch for precise tone shaping. From deep, supportive lows to cutting, articulate mids and crisp highs, this bass adapts effortlessly to any genre.

Practical touches such as the MR5S adjustable bridge, Gotoh machine heads and a satin polyurethane finish round out a truly professional instrument. The result is a bass that feels reassuringly solid, stays in tune and lets you focus entirely on your performance, whether you are locking in with the drummer or stepping out for melodic lines and solos.

Aguilar DCB Pickups and Custom 3-Band EQ

The Aguilar DCB passive dual-ceramic pickups deliver a clear, powerful and even response across the entire fretboard, ideal for extended-range 5-string work. Paired with the Ibanez Custom 3-band EQ, you can sculpt your sound with precision, from tight, focused lows to aggressive midrange growl or smooth, hi-fi clarity. The passive bypass option lets you instantly switch to a more traditional, organic tone when required.

9-Piece Neck-Through Stability

The 9-piece Maple, Bubinga and Panga Panga neck-through construction provides outstanding stability, sustain and resonance. The neck runs the full length of the body, enhancing transfer of vibration and giving you a consistent feel and tone across all registers. This design is ideal for players who rely on accurate intonation, extended sustain and a solid, reassuring feel under the fingers.

Premium Tonewoods and Natural Shadow Finish

Ash body wings with Bubinga top and back create a balanced tonal platform, blending warmth and punch with articulate attack. The Natural Shadow Low Gloss finish highlights the beauty of the woods while keeping reflections to a minimum under stage lights. The satin polyurethane coating also feels smooth and fast, making long sets and sessions more comfortable.

Professional Hardware and Playability

The MR5S bridge allows precise adjustment of string spacing and intonation, helping you dial in the perfect setup for your playing style. Gotoh machine heads provide reliable tuning stability, while premium stainless steel frets with smooth edge treatment offer a slick, durable playing surface. Combined with the off-set abalone dot inlays and gold hardware, the BTB1835 feels every bit as high-end as it looks.
