Product Description
The Ibanez 3EMP21LDP Bass Preamp Module is a complete replacement preamp designed for selected Ibanez basses, giving you precise tone shaping, low noise performance and seamless integration with both magnetic and piezo pickups. Supplied as the main PCB module, it is ideal for restoring your bass to factory-spec operation or upgrading a tired, noisy preamp with a genuine Ibanez unit.
Featuring a dedicated 2 band EQ for magnetic pickups and a separate roll off control for piezo, this compact module delivers clear, controllable tone whether you prefer traditional punch or more acoustic-style detail. Dual gain architecture helps you balance different pickup sources cleanly, while the low noise design keeps your signal tight and focused, even with more extreme EQ settings.
If you own an Ibanez bass that originally shipped with an earlier version of this preamp (up to and including 2015 production), Ibanez specify that the entire preamp module set must be replaced due to a spec change. The 3EMP21LDP is therefore the correct choice when a like-for-like repair is needed, ensuring reliable operation and compatibility with the updated design.
Whether you are a working bassist needing a dependable fix before the next run of shows, or a home player looking to bring an older Ibanez back to life, this official preamp module offers a straightforward, no-nonsense solution with the tone and performance you expect from Ibanez electronics.
Dedicated EQ for Magnetic Pickups
The 3EMP21LDP includes a 2 band EQ section tailored for magnetic bass pickups, letting you dial in lows and highs quickly and musically. This gives you the familiar control you need to shape everything from tight, modern punch to more vintage-inspired warmth, all from the heart of your instrument.
Piezo Roll Off Control
A separate roll off circuit is provided for piezo pickups, allowing you to tame excessive brightness and refine the top end of more acoustic-style tones. This helps you blend piezo and magnetic sources more naturally, smoothing harsh edges while keeping articulation and detail intact.
Low Noise, Dual Gain Design
Engineered for low noise performance, the 3EMP21LDP keeps unwanted hiss and hum to a minimum, even at higher gain or EQ settings. The dual gain structure ensures that different pickup outputs can be managed cleanly, maintaining clarity and headroom so your playing comes through with precision.
Official Ibanez Replacement Module
As an original Ibanez part, the 3EMP21LDP is designed to integrate correctly with compatible Ibanez basses and their control layouts. For instruments built up to and including 2015 that require a preamp repair, Ibanez recommend replacing the entire preamp module set due to specification changes, making this module the correct, factory-approved solution.
Features
- 2 Band EQ for Magnetic Pickups - Dedicated bass and treble control for magnetic pickups lets you sculpt your core sound directly at the preamp, from deep, rounded lows to crisp, defined highs, without sacrificing musicality.
- Piezo Roll Off Circuit - A specific roll off control for piezo signals helps smooth out overly bright or brittle tones, giving you a more balanced and usable sound when using or blending piezo pickups.
- Low Noise, Dual Gain Architecture - Designed for quiet operation, the preamp keeps background noise under control while the dual gain layout manages different pickup levels cleanly, preserving clarity and dynamics.
- Genuine Ibanez Preamp Module - As an official Ibanez replacement part, the 3EMP21LDP restores or maintains factory-correct performance, particularly on basses where earlier preamp versions (up to and including 2015) now require a full module replacement.
