Product Description
The Ibanez AZES40B-BK brings the acclaimed AZ design into an accessible, beginner-friendly package that still feels inspiring for more experienced players. With a versatile S-S-H pickup layout, the powerful dyna-MIX9 switching system and a comfortable, modern neck, it is a do-it-all electric that makes learning, practising and gigging feel easy. Finished in sleek Black, it looks as sharp as it sounds.
Part of the AZ Essentials line, the AZES40B has been carefully engineered to remove common obstacles for new guitarists. A comfortable body shape, a slightly flatter 250 mm fingerboard radius and medium frets all help your hands find the right notes faster, while the upgraded Mono-unit output jack and T106 tremolo bridge provide reliable performance as your playing develops.
Tonally, this guitar is built to cover almost anything. The combination of Essentials single coils and an Accord humbucker gives you everything from glassy cleans to chunky rock rhythm sounds, all enhanced by the dyna-MIX9 system that unlocks nine distinct pickup voices. Whether you are exploring your first chords or experimenting with more advanced styles, the AZES40B keeps up with you every step of the way.
Effortless Playability for Learners
The AZES40B is designed so that beginners can focus on playing, not fighting the instrument. The slim, stable maple neck and 250 mm radius jatoba fingerboard feel smooth under the fingers, making chords, scales and bends more comfortable. Medium frets help improve intonation and accuracy, so your notes ring out clearly as you build confidence and technique.
Versatile S-S-H Pickup Configuration
With two Essentials single coils and an Accord humbucker at the bridge, the AZES40B covers a wide range of tones. The single coils deliver bright, articulate sounds that are perfect for clean and mildly driven styles, while the bridge humbucker adds extra output and thickness for rock and heavier genres. This flexibility means you can explore multiple styles of music with one guitar.
dyna-MIX9 Switching for Nine Tones
The dyna-MIX9 system with Alter Switch dramatically expands what the pickups can do. With a simple flick of the mini switch, you can move between humbucker and single coil-style voices, including a mode that simulates a humbucker using two single coils together. This gives you nine distinct tonal options without changing your playing position, making it easy to find the right sound mid-song.
Comfortable, Player-Focused Hardware
The T106 tremolo bridge with Comfort round steel saddles is built for both feel and function. The rounded saddle design reduces sharp edges under your picking hand, making strumming and palm muting more comfortable. The bridge also offers a wide range of height adjustment and straightforward setup, helping you dial in a playing feel that suits you as your technique evolves.
