Product Description
The Ibanez AZ24047BK is a Japanese built Prestige 7 string designed for players who demand modern versatility, rock solid tuning stability and effortless playability. With an HSS set of Seymour Duncan Hyperion 7 pickups, dyna-MIX9 switching and a silky S-TECH roasted maple neck, it is a precision tool for progressive rock, technical metal and beyond, all wrapped up in a sleek gloss black finish.
Every detail of the AZ24047BK has been engineered to feel familiar yet refined. The extended range 7 string format gives you access to low, powerful riffs without sacrificing clarity or comfort, while stainless steel frets, a premium Gotoh tremolo and locking tuners keep your playing accurate and in tune under the heaviest use. Whether you live on clean, intricate chord voicings or saturated lead tones, this Prestige AZ delivers the control and consistency you need on stage and in the studio.
S-TECH Roasted Maple Neck and Fretboard
The S-TECH roasted maple neck and fretboard provide a fast, smooth playing surface with exceptional stability. The roasting process removes excess moisture from the wood, helping the neck resist warping and improving tuning consistency across different climates. Combined with the comfortable AZ profile and precise Japanese fretwork, the neck feels broken in from day one, encouraging long, fatigue free sessions.
Seymour Duncan Hyperion 7 HSS Pickups
A calibrated set of Seymour Duncan Hyperion 7 pickups in an HSS configuration gives the AZ24047BK a huge tonal range. The single coils in the neck and middle positions offer articulate, glassy cleans and punchy rhythm sounds, while the bridge humbucker delivers tight, focused drive that keeps extended range riffs clear and defined. Passive electronics keep the response dynamic, so your picking hand really shapes the sound.
dyna-MIX9 Switching System
The dyna-MIX9 switching system unlocks nine distinct pickup combinations from the HSS layout, letting you move from classic single coil sparkle to series and parallel humbucking voices at the flick of a switch. This means you can cover everything from funk and fusion to modern metal without changing guitars, making the AZ24047BK an ideal all rounder for players who need maximum flexibility from a single instrument.
Prestige Hardware and Construction
Built in Japan to Ibanez Prestige standards, the AZ24047BK features a Gotoh T1872S tremolo and Gotoh MG-T locking tuners for smooth pitch control and reliable tuning. Stainless steel jumbo frets with Prestige edge treatment feel incredibly comfortable under the fingers and stay in top condition for longer. The alder body keeps the overall weight manageable while delivering a balanced, full range tone that works brilliantly with the Hyperion pickups.
Features
- Made in Japan Prestige Build Quality - Crafted in Japan to Ibanez Prestige standards, the AZ24047BK benefits from meticulous attention to detail, from fretwork to finishing. This results in a guitar that feels refined, consistent and ready for professional use straight out of the case.
- S-TECH Roasted Maple Neck and Fretboard - The S-TECH roasted maple neck and fretboard offer enhanced stability, a smooth feel and a snappy, responsive tone. The roasting process helps the neck stay true over time, reducing the need for frequent adjustments and giving you confidence on tour or in changing environments.
- Seymour Duncan Hyperion 7 HSS Pickups with dyna-MIX9 - A versatile HSS set of Seymour Duncan Hyperion 7 pickups paired with the dyna-MIX9 switching system delivers nine usable tones from one guitar. From crisp single coil sounds to powerful humbucking voices, you can quickly adapt to different genres and playing situations without sacrificing clarity on the low B string.
- Gotoh T1872S Tremolo and MG-T Locking Tuners - The Gotoh T1872S tremolo works smoothly for expressive vibrato and pitch effects, while MG-T locking tuners make string changes quick and help maintain tuning stability. Combined with the Graph Tech Black TUSQ XL nut, you get reliable performance even with heavy tremolo use and aggressive playing styles.
